Maple Story: Quest for English (26Q Bomb Game Template)
« on: July 04, 2011, 05:54:46 PM »
This is yet another 26 question bomb-game style template themed around the popular Korean MMORPG game "Maple Story", another perennial favourite of the kiddies at the local PC Bang.

Instructions:
1) Put your questions in the text boxes for each of the 26 question slides.

2) Adding any relevant additional materials (like pictures used to provide clues) for each question are encouraged, with entrance and exit animations to not block the question text boxes.

3) Answer slides are somewhat unnecessary as the questions can be fairly simple and can be easily answered by a native English speaker. However, for more advanced questions for higher levels, you can add in the answers by duplicating the text box in each question slide and setting it to appear with an entrance animation.

NB: Currently all of the questions (excluding ones with special outcomes like the "Big Bang") have 5 points as rewards. To adjust the points given out per question, simply delete the gold bars as desired.

I've been getting some site trouble with Waygook lately that's given me some problems with updating posts (likely a broswer-side issue), so I'm posting this as a new post to this thread.

Here is an expanded version of my original Maple Story template (3x24Q instead of the original 25Q setup), with some extra animations, clarifications on special events, and some more bug fixes. Each set of 24 questions is placed in a different area of the Maple Story world, which makes it good for organizing sets of questions in terms of theme, type of learning, or difficulty.

Thank you SO much! One of my 5th graders saw this and went CRAZY! He wants to play the game already, even though I JUST downloaded the template and I've not yet adapted it... Ah kids.... LOL

Looks GREAT!!!

This looks great!

However, I noticed there were a few links which linked to the wrong place so I have fixed them and re-uploaded.

I can't promise that I have fixed every single one but I have fixed all the ones that I spotted. I am looking forward to using this in a class.

Sorry to sound like a nub but how do you play this exactly?

This is, at its core, a standard bomb game, which plays just like any other bomb game template on Waygook. The difference is that along with special events which remove points from a team, one event swaps the points of the team in first and last place. I may actually change that to "swap points with the team of your choice" since it seems to be confusing.
