Hello!

I have attached an Intro PPT that goes over the book vocabulary, which features a "what's missing?" practice section at the end.  whole thing plus explanations takes about 10 minutes.

Also attached is a game I made.  Instead of Pass the Ball, it's Pass the ____ and each slide lists a different item of the students'.  Here are the instructions:

-Use the first slide to explain the game
-Put students in groups if they are not already seated that way -- 4-6 is good.  Give each student a # within thr group (from 1-6).
-Teacher call out a seat # and show the slide (Pass the pencil, etc.).  Tell all students with that # to pick up the item.
-Click to start the music.
-When the music is playing, Ss pass the item around the group.
-Click to go to the next slide and stop music.
-When the music stops, the student with the item at each group stands up.
-Whole class says the question on the next slide (is this your pencil?)
-Each student standing answers with "yes it is" or "no it isn't."  for a more advanced class, have them say "yes it is.  it's mine" and "no it isn't.  mine is (color)."

sorry if that's too much detail!  this worked great today!  we had to make it clear they needed to pass nicely though -- I was worried about them jabbing pencils at each other in their excitement.

Good power point, thanks so much!  It gets so tedious doing this with good pictures.  I will be using this.  There was one inconsistency between the "No, it isn't" picture and the "Yes, it is phrase" so please check before you use the ppt.  Again, thanks.

GoGo's Adventures 32 is a video that addresses ownership (hers, his, mine, yours). I use GoGo a lot for introduction to new lessons. It helps get the kids focused and is relevant. Just search YouTube for GoGo (32).

It's particularly important to ask recall questions when using GoGo, though.

Hey ya'll~Here's an intro ppt along with a What's Missing game for part 1. Kid's love the what's missing game and it's a great way to practice vocabulary and target sentences. Hope this is helpful!

Simple Zombie game. I took the original idea from someone else on here (can't remember who, but thank you!)and just added rules slide, changed the pictures and added questions. You may want to changed the student's numbers, like if you know your students and want the ones who don't usually participate to answer the questions!

Cluedo/Battleships Style Game Gameboard ("Lost and Found Game")

This is a simple-ish game that tests the target language "Is this your [._.]?" as well as clarifying responses. To play, print one sheet per student. It is a pair game.

Step 1: Fold the page in half. The lower half is kept concealed, the upper half is public.
Step 2: All students must hide ("lose") their six (6) items on the lower grid. Once done, that is placed firmly down so it cannot be seen.
Step 3: RPS for player order.
Step 4: Player 1 points at a square on the upper page and asks for ANY of the six items, "Is this your [._.]?"
Step 5a: If that is the correct description/placement of the item, then Player 2 responds with "Yes, it's mine." and Player 1 can draw the item in the box. They get 1 point for this.
Step 5b: If that is not the correct description/placement of the item, then Player 2 responds with "No, it's not. Mine is [._.]." and provides any one of the 6 remaining hints (out of the 8: 4 colours and 4 sizes) to Player 1. No points are accrued.
Step 6: Roles reverse and Steps 4 and 5 repeat ad infinitum.

The winner is the first to "return" all six items to their partner, or if time runs out, the player who has "returned" the most items. Unlike the activity in the textbook, this does not require realia sourced from the students, and the potential hassles associated with such an activity. Yes, I know realia is good in theory, but really, in practice, it is a royal pain, and the last thing I wish to deal with is students getting their gear muddled up or accusing each other of theft. Hence this pen and paper based activity instead.

Target language is marked atop the worksheet. Winner is determined by a healthy mixture of luck and strategy.

Also attached is an addendum to the review sheets found here that you can get the students to paste in the inside cover of their books. Its a cute and basic table displaying the relationships between I/my/mine/you/your/yours that hopefully they will refer back to when necessary. It's pretty small so there are four to a page.
