Wallace and Gromit lesson

This is part 1,2 & 3 of a Wallace and Gromit lesson. It is for the movie: A matter of loaf and death.
The movie is divided into three parts and can be found on Youtube.

Because the Youtube version doesn't have Korean subtitles (and my kids English level is quite low), I wrote a "script" for each part of the movie. The script's vocabulary is, of course, much simpler than the movies.

Start the class with the ppt. of vocab (only for part 1). Then read the script with the class. How you want to read it with the class is up to you - for the 1st script I let them repeat after me. They made different voices for the different characters, so it was fun.

For scripts 2 & 3 I divided the class into two teams for a reading challenge. Team A read only Wallace (with my co-teacher, who would then be Wallace) and Team B read only Piella (with me, being Piella). They enjoyed it more because of the competition factor. And I enjoyed it more because my co-teacher was doing half the reading and my voice didn't suffer as much.

If you have time, play the crossword game. Two students per team. In the centre of the paper, cut the paper halfway from the bottom up. This will allow you to fold the paper's short ends together. Then fold the halves of the long end up (like legs). Now the paper will be able to stand upright between the two students, with one crossword + hints facing each student (like the battleship game board).

Each side of the paper has hint letters. Together these hint letters form a single word. The two students must work together to unscramble the word. Ex. Student A has all the consonants of each word. Student B has all the vowels of each word.

Student A reads his/her consonants: "Number 1, Down. rcwdrss", and student B reads his/her vowels: "Number 1, Down. oo". Together they have to figure out that the word is "crossword". Then they will write the word in the crossword puzzle.

I didn't always have time to play this game though. But it's good to save for a later lesson.
