Choose Your Own Adventure
« on: September 07, 2010, 09:15:10 AM »
I used this with boys Middle School grades 1 and 2 and modified it slightly to fit the grammar concepts each grade is studying.
Grade 1:
A Knock at the Door.ppt
I Will Bomb Game.ppt
Grade 2:
A Knock at the Door Suggestions.ppt
Suggestions Bomb Game.ppt

It is a 2 part lesson as it stands now with an intro to the concept and choose your own adventure powerpoint game the first day followed by students making their own games. The second day, students present and play eachothers games and play a bomb game with the rest of the time.
It's really fun to see the students' creativity, morbid and violent as it may be for middle school boys, and they seem to enjoy it too.
Let me know how/ if this works for you!

This game went well with my 1st grade students when I gave them a choice of answers. I've changed the game so that we go through the pictures together, then students, in their groups, get a choice of answers. They also have the choice to choose something else if the like. I get the Korean teacher to choose their preferred answer and if a group's matches the teacher's choice they get a point.

Choices PPT is attached.
