To cut down on the time consumption, you could do one set and walk around the room and distribute a new card when they are finished with the one they have, this also lets you monitor the students and get more stuck in.

I did a modified version of your lesson and it was a huge hit with my 1st grade middle schoolers. They loved it.

I printed out the characters, laminated and cut them out but one or two of the cards ended up getting bent and falling apart. I could swear some went missing too. I'll glue the broken ones and will probably still use them sometime in the future again.

I also printed out and laminated six A4 sized keycards with numbers next to the Superheros. I didn't know all the names so I thought numbers would be good to use instead. In the end I used the keycards in place of the cards. I'm glad to say they are still in good condition.

Introduction

I began my lesson by discussing appearance and going over some sentences about appearance. I did this as a PPT presentation, using some of the superheros as an example. The kids LOVED this. I labelled the superheros features, using some Korean words as a guide to understanding. I gave each student a copy of the PPT presentation before I began talking about it. This was important because they could use it as a reference, both during the presentation and during the activity that we did.

Activity

Then I split my class into groups, giving each goup a keycard. Each group chose one superhero and wrote some sentences about it. Each group member would write down one sentence. They then presented in front of the other groups. The other groups had to guess who the superhero was based on the descriptions.

Importantly, groups got points based on how well they did. This made things really competitive. In fact, students started to use the language in novel and creative ways so that they could beat the other teams. The students actually wanted to and enjoyed talking.

This was a great lesson and we covered a lot. There was also an opportunity to correct grammar in a fun and non-boring way. Great stuff!
