(대교 Daegyo) Grade 4, Lesson 8 - "Don't Enter, Please"
« on: August 25, 2011, 03:25:54 pm »
To kick things off here, here's a Missing Dialogue, appropriate for any period after the first one. The 3rd dialogue is a bit long, but, otherwise, should be fairly easy. My kids really enjoy this memory game. ^^

Here is a chase the sentence ppt game ( based on chase the voc ppt game by Rufus).  Here the students see sentences instead of photos.

Great Powerpoints that worked great in class!  Kids loved the pass the paper game!  Thanks!

For lesson 8 - I revised part 1, and used it for review.  Also added in the chant.  Hope it helps someone along the way.

This should really be under the Story time 4 thread but I'm not sure how to create a new thread so hope no one gets their knickers in a twist if I put it in here for the time being...

Just some basics for the World Tour at the end of Story time 4.

A power point on animals from around the world and a quick pass the ball game to go with it.

Thanks for all the great materials!

For those of you who didn't see it, the old book has some good materials that can be adapted easily for this lesson. (Last year's book was "Don't Do That!") You can find it here: http://waygook.org/index.php/topic,1185.0.html

Here is a Disappearing Pictures game, probably for use/review on period 3 or 4.

Here are some materials I found from 6th grade, lesson 15.

1. Monkey Warning - PPT animation of going to the zoo. He reads a sign that says "Don't feed the monkeys" and then proceeds to do so.

2. Don't PPT  with slides that say, Don't smoke, don't run, don't use your phone, and don't fart.

3. Signs PPT - slides that say, Don't litter, don't pick the flowers, don't feed the animals, don't walk on the grass, don't talk/No talking, Don't ride your bike, don't eat here, don't park here, and a few more.

4. Don't poster - Students make their own "don't" sign.

5. Don't worry, Be happy - Video animation

6. Command game - Someone posted this for another 4th grade book.  Students battle other students by playing rock, paper, scissors. Winners get to command the losers.
http://waygook.org/index.php/topic,21394.0.html - Don't Do That!

7. Song animation - Don't stop me now by Queen. Shortened version.

Hi Everyone;

Attached is a bomb game that goes over the keywords and sentences for this chapter.  There are also review questions for chapter 7.
Thanks to whoever originally made the template the kids love the sounds in the game!

This is the exact same bomb game as above only with answers added and some animations improved. Thanks for posting. ;D also a Mario bomb game where the kids have to chose the mushrooms by saying two of the key expressions. Also the Don't worry be Happy song original and best by Bobby McFerrin in WMV format so you can stick it straight into your PPT.

Here is an easy review that I did for period 2.  I basically took some ideas from a few other ppts on here and then added a few things of my own.  I will use it at the start of class to review and motivate.  Also, here is a push and pull game that I made.  I took the template from someone else on here.  To anyone who hasn't played it before it is very easy and my students usually love it.  You can play with 2 people or in teams - I usually play with 4 people (2 teams of 2).  There is one marker that goes in the middle at start.  One person from each team does rock, paper scissors.  The winner rolls the dice and moves in one direction and then says the appropriate expression for that square.  You then repeat with 2 players doing rock, paper scissors.  If the same team wins they roll the dice and continue moving in the same direction.  If the other team wins then they roll the dice, but move the same marker in the opposite direction, back towards start.  The first team to get the marker to their finish line is the winner.

to teach negative commands, a game i like is to have one student give commands, and then after students do the action for a while, another student can give the command to stop. for example one student says "run". the other students run in place, then the other student says "dont run"
