The idea regarding the memory game for lesson "how much is it" is something I'm thinking of doing but modifying it to have duplicate amount of money so it'll make the game more easy and more chances for the children to buy items. Thanks for posting!

One lesson I did was I put three baskets on the floor with a picture of a ruler on the closest one, a watermelon on the middle one and a car on the furthest one. Divided the class into three teams and gave each team about $50 in play money. On the board I wrote that the ruler cost $3 and was worth 3 points, Watermelon cost $5 and worth 10 points and the car cost $10 and was worth 25 points. One student from a team comes up and asks how much an item costs and then decides if he/she wanted to buy it. What the students bought was a shot at the correct basket with a fuzzy dice. If the student makes it his/her team gets the points and it is the next teams turn. If misses I allow the student to for half price after saying the target vocab again. If a team gets low on money I allow bartering. At the end I count up the points and give a point for every dollar/ 2 dollars the team has left over. Most points wins. Worked well for me and I was asked to play it many times.

Grade 4 L6-Sponge Bob video & flash cards practice-How much is it?

use each sentence/word below on a flash card.  Each student has one card.  They need to line up in order of what was said on the video.  The class can help.

Good morning to you sir. Would you care to blow a bubble?

Hmm, how much is it?

Only a quarter!

Sounds reasonable.

Could I borrow a quarter?

Sure thing.

Thank you!

One bubble wand, dipped and ready to go!

Can I interest you in some lessons? Only 25 cents.

Very well then. Can I borrow another quarter?

Okay! Goodbye.

I'm already on Lesson 11, but it looks like I'm the first ... there aren't any materials up yet. So I looked around and found a Price Is Right game for 6th grade (thank you to the poster!) and was able to simplify it for my 4th graders.

My students weren't able to say the big numbers in English, so I had them write their guesses on the board.

Hope this is helpful!
This was really helpful especially with the 3rd graders. They can count higher 50 and know the difference between American money and Korean money.

here's a ptt. with a worksheet. i  pasted the things on the second page on the first page, because I couldn't fit the images on the first word doc.

the last page is just numbers i used in a game. I put the numbers on the bored, then would read a number, and have two students try to smack the number first, whoever got it first won a pt. for their team
i found this useful b/c they weren't too good with thousand and hundred, so this was fun practice.

I played the dice game for this topic. Got students to pick items they want to and some items they would never buy for each side of the dice. I also made them pick the prices for each item. It made for an interesting game :)

Hey,

Here is a PPT I used to intro the target language and an adapted survey game I used which worked well.

For the survey activity I printed the worksheet in black and white.  I asked the students to colour 2 pictures red, 2 x yellow etc.  This gave them a chance to practice their colours again.  I asked half the students to stand and other half to sit.  The standing students go to sitting students and say;

Sitting:  May I help you?
Standing: I want this (colour) (item).  How much is it? (pointing to their own worksheet)
Sitting: It's (thousand/hundred) won.
Standing: Writes the sitting students name in the box.

I then swapped the students (sitting/standing).  At the end I do a lottery, I choose 1 item and a colour e.g. Red - bike.  The student that has a red bike (and the person whose name is in that box) are the winners and get a sticker.

The kids absolutely love anything to do with a lottery.

Cheers.

This is a double puzzle that I made for Grade  4 "How Much Is It:" First they unscramble some vocab words, then they use the answers to discover a sentence at the bottom. The sentence is "Your English is Fantastic!" See worksheet:

I made a worksheet that should take up a couple of minutes. It's really easy, but I always have to make easy worksheets for my students. This is one that my co-teacher won't flip out about because it's too hard.

SIMPLE matching section, short dialogue, and unscramble 5 words.

Here are PPT's i made for pds 1-3.   At the beginning of every lesson I played the Doggie in the Window song.  By the end all my kids were singing almost the whole song.   For period 1 I made a simple fill in the blank worksheet too.  My kids are low-level so i made it so they could just circle the answer.  I had pd 1 PPT up on the screen (fill in the blank slide), while they were doing the worksheet, to help them know the meaning of each word.  Also attatched is a worksheet I made for Phonics Time.  I read each of the words outloud and they would circle or draw a triangle depending on if they heard a long or short 'a' sound.  They loved it.  We played Angry Bird Game twice during this lesson because we didnt have a lot of time to play it adn the kids loved it so much they wanted to finish it.  Enjoy.

Here's a wmv file of a short video I made using "The Breakfast Song."

The first few seconds just show pictures of a few things people might eat for breakfast (rice, kimchi, cereal, toast).  I'd pause on each of these pictures, and have the students repeat the words.  After those pictures, the song comes on with the words on the screen.  I had the students listen one time.  Then I'd slide go back in the show and replay it so they could sing along.  After that, I just let the video play through.  Basically, when the song can't be heard, the students are supposed to shout out "I want ___."  They should fill in the blank with whatever picture is on the screen at the time (ex. "I want kimchi!").

I think that makes sense?

I think it's usable for this lesson and the next.

I would really like to use this song...but my computer at school cannot download the file. Does anyone know which "Breakfast song" she is referring to? Also, how to do I save a Youtube video to my drive? Thanks in advance!
