Shark Week
« on: September 14, 2011, 06:35:20 PM »
Finally .... I was hoping someone would make one but no one ever did so I went ahead and made a lesson on shark week.

It's quite long, it was for my after school class so I used this for a week long lesson. It's a little difficult, I included vocabulary words with korean definitions as "warm ups" and reviews" ... I don't normally use any korean in my lessons, as my co teachers don't like it .... but I have no co teacher for this class and they're low level so I felt the need.  There's 3 different passages for reading comprehension and if you're evil like me you can make them copy it into their notebooks for writing practice.

There's also several links to videos attached to pictures and text.

Any improvements are welcome also  ;D

Note: I went back and forth between my mac and my windows computer so I'm not sure if that caused any problems as far as text or sizing/orientation ... we'll see I guess .. sorry if it did, I know that's annoying

:o Great pptx! I really loved it and I am using it for my Middle School after school class! It is very informative and I love how it segues to talking about Fears! I imbedded some youtube videos from Shark Week episodes to help the lecture go along. Thank you for putting up this powerpoint! Good luck with your teaching!

Awesome idea! This lesson can easily be made into a summer/winter camp weeklong lesson or like I am using it for 1-2 afterschool class/es. I added a few more video links as well as a trailer for Jaws to show where the hysteria over sharks stemmed from. Thanks for the idea and good work!

I will give this one a go. I've never even heard of Shark Week before! Thanks :)

p.s. If anybody has a copy with the extra videos embedded/linked to that would be awesome too. Cheers.
