5th grade book: The English sounds too formal and awkward.  You would NOT hear this English in an English-speaking country.  They avoid contractions.
The CD is not voiced-over, but are a bit boring and has bad acting.

6th grade book: This book uses very formal English that you’re not likely to hear, “What time SHALL we meet?”  The dialogues are unrealistic and boring.
The CD is not voiced-over, but it has bad acting and the videos are boring.

Also, I heard from another teacher and my co-teacher that this book was written by professors.  The other Cheonjae book was written by school teachers.

My coteacher's opinion: this book is more grammatically focused, which is probably why, as complex303 pointed out, the dialogues sound so awkward and formal. The lessons are broken up into 7 periods - listening, speaking, reading, writing, activity "talk & act", activity "do & show", and review.

My school is using the 5th grade book. Both my co-teacher and I can't get the CDs to work. The actual contents of the page won't load >:[ anyone else who's using the 5th grade book running into the same problem?

i ran into the same problem with my personal laptop with the cheonjae cd-roms. as in i could load the cd and interface but the pages wouldn't show. however, when i used it on my (korean) office computer it worked... i have no idea why, but my suggestion is try it on multiple computers and see what happens.

personally i find the conversation (so far) more realistic than the ones i taught last year. albeit more challenging too.

My co-teacher and I are trying to download the CDs from the publisher's website (without much success). They are here, and you'll need a Korean speaker to set up an account and password for you:
http://e.tsherpa.co.kr/main/main.aspx

From what I can view of the CD, it seems like they have a part where you can make basic writing worksheets with an image bank, which might be handy. I know I will be using that image bank when I make review games.
To use that part, click the fourth tab, the one on the bottom right of the open e-book image.

The CD-Rom won't work on my computer either and they called in a computer engineer to fix it.  He determined that it's just because I'm running on Windows 7.  The CDRom works fine on XP computers, but it won't run on Windows 7.  If anyone figures out if it is possible to access the CDRoms online, it would be much appreciated.  If I give up my Windows 7 computer, I'll lose my English operating system...

Wow. What kind of a textbook released in 2012 doesn't have Windows 7 support? Ludicrous.
