This was my first post-introduction lesson plan, and it worked pretty well for my low-intermediate 2nd grade boys. My students really struggle with vocabulary so it is a vocabulary based lesson plan, all of the vocab was taken from the fable that we read. So it may look a little challenging but they were able to retain quite a bit of it. I had to do a lot of drilling for this lesson though, to work on pronunciation, there were a number of words that had difficult sounds for them to pronounce, which was part of the reason I chose those words.
I broke up the vocab into four, five-word chunks all based around the same general theme.
The steps
1. Introduce the lesson (explain good vs bad in regards to people and ideas)
2. Read the story (I read it then the class read aloud)
3. More vocabulary from the fable
4. Game: Bingo (I give them the definition and they mark off the correct word on their board. It was a very simple game but they ate it up, really woke them up first class after lunch)
