Here's a key phrase and vocab sheet, that also covers how to ask and and answer the questions covered in this unit.

In more exciting news- I've also attached a Simpsons Game, which covers pretty much everything in this unit and a couple of extra words (stormy, monsoon etc).

Thank you for the game! But I'm a little confused about the rules. Do the kids start out with points already? Because some of the directions are to give points to other teams, but what if they don't have points?

Namerae- When we play this game, I always give each team 5 points to start with. When a team get one of the options that says something along the lines of "Get 6 points and give 2 to another team", I give the team that answered the question 6 points and then let them choose a different team to receive an additional 2 points. Basically, I give out 8 points (6 to one team and 2 to another) as opposed to subtracting 2 from anyone.

I hope this makes some sense!

Worksheet to cover the phonics section of the book.
The students need to differentiate between Long and Short "A".

Nothing special, but should kill a few mins.

So glad there is finally some stuff for this lesson! For period 1 I used this video as an intro.

The kids really loved the season bot and I would pause the video before they said each season, having the kids guess which one.

Then I used the bingo sheet below (taken from the Grade 6). I changed some of the words and had my kids use all 4 seasons with both rounds.

There isn't any talking in the video, but it works well for introducing the topic and the students will find it amusing (I played it without sound once, and the kids were still captivated).

Oh and a sentence relay, although the template is pinched from somewhere else on waygook and I've just added the appropriate terms and expressions. It was a bit hard as a straight sentence relay for my kids so my co-teacher and I wrote the words up on the board first, so they could look for the right word and get the spelling right.
