Backstreet Boys strip song
« on: September 25, 2011, 09:35:44 PM »
This lesson was made for my middle school extra class. What I did was show my students the music video "I want it that way" by the Backstreet boys. This clip was found on YouTube . After watching it we discussed what the students first impressions were with it.

The students were then divided into groups and were given the song cut up into little sections. The song was played over a couple of times and it was the students job to but the song lyrics in order.

When the students thought they had figured it out, we went from group to group going over each section of the song, so that groups could rearrange the lyrics if they were in the wrong places.

Following this I gave them each a copy of the song and went through and discussed what the song meant.

After this the song was played again and this time sang along to the song. Then lastly the song with the music video was showed once more, but the students were standing up, singing, and dancing to it. They loved it! This lesson takes about 45 minutes.
