5 Minute Chocolate Cake

I posted a link to the site on this one earlier but have now made a ppt to go with it.  My students will be suffering from post traumatic test disorder so I thought I'd give 'em an easy cooking lesson. 

My school is footing the bill for the readily available ingredients and I picked up the tab on the chocolate chips and cocoa but it's well worth it!

hey, i've seen cocoa at lotte mart's and at emart once i think. it's not where you'd expect half the time. you can also try shopping online at ezshop korea or the underground grocer's. your co-t may have to help you set up your address for delivery, but both deliver cheap and relatively quick.

Foreigner markets are usually in cities...the ones I've seen are generally tucked away in the downtown market...Itaewon also has a bunch of them...

Hanam market near Itaewon also has a LOT of foreign products.

Thanks! I'll have a look around those places (preferably minus Itaewon - the foreigner food shops seems extortionate at times!). I want to have a go at making this myself.

i've bought Hershey's unsweetened coco at E-Mart....or was it Homeplus? i remember it being in an obscure location...not with the baking products but with the cereals. anyways, try both places

I've bought cocoa from Homeplus before and its okay.....you can get it from www.nicedeli.co.kr too along with real sausages and other culinary delights.

I've often bought Cocoa from Homeplus. You can find it in the aisle that has the flour and stuff in it normally. Its in small bags.
Failing that, there's always the drinking cocoa's in the coffee aisle.

There are many places you can get cocoa.

Thanks for this presentation, I'm going to see if I can employ it for my upcoming Winter camps.

Right now, Homeplus has Hershey's unsweetened cocoa with a whole bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips taped to the top!  I found it in the hot drink isle...like with the tea and coffee and hot chocolate.  Either that or in the candy isle with other chocolate stuff.

This sounds like a cool idea to try.

Homeplus can sometimes have tins of cocoa in the hot chocolate / instant coffee sticks section, in addition to the small portions available in the flour aisle.

I think it is ok to put Korean in your ppt especially if you are teaching low level students.  Take the ppt and change it to what works best for you and then repost it so others can share!

I'm thinking of using this as a winter camp activity. Did anyone actually make it? How did it turn out? If I follow the exact measurements, how many servings is it? Just trying to get all the info possible before I beg my school to budget in so many ingredients. Thanks everyone!

1 recipe = 1 mug....I did this in my large classes as they were studying cooking in one chapter and one mug full was good enough for a group of 6 students...they LOVED it...I  also told them ahead of time that they could bring other sweets to put in it if they wanted...we used broken up chocolate bars instead of chocolate chips as they are WAY too expensive!
