After playing the Top 5 game with my students, I discovered they still don't know a lot of food names. So, here's an overview broken down into the following categories: fruits, vegetables, meats, breads and grains, dairy, desserts, snacks and drinks.
The powerpoint goes over every food on the vocabulary list and then quizzes the students on what certain foods are. Then students have to name (I had them just yell the names out at me) a certain number of foods from each category. Then students did a fill-in-the-missing-words listening activity as I read a prepared speech about making dinner. Finally, students write down what their favorite and least favorite fruits and vegetables are and what their favorite dessert is and why.
