Super Food Review, MG1/MG2
« on: November 03, 2010, 03:57:00 PM »
After playing the Top 5 game with my students, I discovered they still don't know a lot of food names.  So, here's an overview broken down into the following categories:  fruits, vegetables, meats, breads and grains, dairy, desserts, snacks and drinks.

The powerpoint goes over every food on the vocabulary list and then quizzes the students on what certain foods are.  Then students have to name (I had them just yell the names out at me) a certain number of foods from each category.  Then students did a fill-in-the-missing-words listening activity as I read a prepared speech about making dinner.  Finally, students write down what their favorite and least favorite fruits and vegetables are and what their favorite dessert is and why.

Attachments include:
* ppt presentation
* vocabulary sheet with all food words in English and in Hangul
* Listening activity file with listening master and worksheets (2 to a page)
* Lesson plan

Please let me know what you think.  Corrections and modifications are highly encouraged.  The fruits and vegetables part was mainly ripped from a fruit & vegetable ppt that was listed here a few weeks ago.  If you did it and you'd like credit for it, please let me know.

I made a slight upgrade to it, changing some of the pictures and changing it from powerpoint to prezi.
The link:

Feel free to use any of my prezi presentations if you'd like.

They are not difficult to make at all. I just started using Prezi a month ago.
They have a great little tutorial program that helps you get started.

I would advise you teach the children the correct fruits and vegetables. Cucumbers, Egg plants, squash, tomatoes and peppers all have seeds and therefore are fruits. Also Mushrooms are not vegetables they are a fungus.
