There's no link to this lesson in the grade 4 index and I'm not sure that too many people use this book but I'll make a topic for it anyway. I do two pages per lesson with my co-teacher, and we've just done the first two. I'll write my lesson plan for those two pages here and upload the material I used for it. Admittedly 90% of the material is from here (perhaps tweaked a little) so major thanks to those I've borrowed from, but I thought it would be good to have a topic to discuss this particular lesson.

Focus: location prepositions (in, on, under, in front of, behind, next to, between)

The kids loved this, and the chorus is pretty easy and catchy so by the end they were all singing.
Look and listen: watch the video from the CD, ask questions (where is the hat, where is Toto?).
Listen and repeat: play the two videos, get them to repeat after you.
In on under ppt.: for this I just got them to repeat every sentence after me a couple of times.
Where is the ball ppt. simple guessing game - split them up into teams. If they can't decide on one answer, hold a team vote.
'Hooray' section of book: I just got them to write 'in', 'on' or 'under' in the right box.
Drawing game: hand out A4 paper to everyone, ask them to draw a house. Then you can get them to draw other objects in the scene. I used there is a tree next to the house, a car in front of the house, a swimming pool behind the house, a cat in the tree, a soccer ball under the car, a bird on the roof and a person between the house and the tree. Then draw your own house on the board and ask volunteers in turn to come up and draw those things in the right place, asking the class if they're right and repeating the key sentences for them.

If there's time left over, you can play the intro song again. The lesson went down really well for me. Next two pages are on Wednesday, I'll have a plan for those up sometime next week.

Here's a simple introductory worksheet.

There is a really good song.  At first sounds corney but the kids ended up loving it and singing along.  It's a very easy rythm to catch.  www.youtube.com/watch?v=hx8i-Wq_itc I don't know if that works if not go to youtube and in the search bar type in
"In On Under - Kids English kindergarten song.  My grade 5's loved it if you get a pen or something and make them do actions with the pen put the pen in your hand, on your head then under your foot etc etc as you sing.  Then they have to do the actions with the song once they got the song down pat.

That "Where is Spongebob" game is genius. I can kill a lot of the class with that... booyaa

Here's a "where in the world" PPT for the "Hello World" section.  Korea, Japan, China, U.S., Canada, U.K. and France are the nations; capitals of each (except U.S. is NY instead). There's an intro/explanation and then 2 rounds which can be used as a game.
