Friendship Lesson
« on: November 24, 2010, 11:35:08 AM »
I used this lesson for me after school class, they're made up of third and fourth graders. The lesson teaches 'friendship traits' its basically a list of words that can be used in the sentence "I like my friend because ____________" I used random words that I thought the kids would relate to but you can add or remove as you choose.
So I used a PPT (with Korean translations)
Worksheet ~ they draw a picture of their friend or themselves with the friend and write at the bottom I like my friend because___________ ~ about 4 sentences)
We then have presentation time where the kids can talk about their friend.
hope this is usable  :)

Hello,

thanks for sharing. Unfortunately I couldn't open it; when I tried, I got the message that it is "in use by another user." I got this message on several PPTS (not just this one) but even when I've gone back later, I've got the same message. I have no idea if the problem is my computer, this website or something else. Please could someone give me some advice? Does anybody else have this problem with this or other PPTs?
Thanks.

Thanks for a great lesson.  I used it for a mixed level class of 4-6 grade students.  I made a word search for our next lesson to review the vocabulary.  Thanks to Mish for the original PPT and worksheet!

A pass the ball game to practice the personality adjectives used in all the previous documents.

I've attached the lyrics (in English with Korean translations) to two songs on this theme: the Friends theme song: "I'll be there for you" by The Rembrandts, and also "you've got a friend" by Carole King.

Hi I've adapted the pass the ball for a musical chair game and also used some of the adjectives to make some connect five boards. There is also a ppt which explains to the kids how to play connect 5
enjoy

Here is a lesson that should have been WAY too hard for my 6th graders but actually turned out okay. I wouldn't have wanted to try it alone, though. My co-teacher helped to translate the quotes. I presented all of the quotes in the PPT and asked the students what they thought they meant (there is no wrong answer after all). Then they picked one that they liked, and copied it down in the W/S. Then I asked them to come up with their own saying about friendship and draw a picture to represent it. This lesson was my co-teacher's idea, and it sounded kinda lame to me. However, it went quite well!

Thanks for this lesson. I don't normally teach elementary students but I have one class I need to teach this Saturday. Thanks for your lesson, it will really help.
