A lesson teaching the use of 'as + adjective + as' comparisons and some idioms using this form.

At the start of the lesson, I wrote a few of the lyrics on the chalkboard with the adjective missing. Ss had to listen and tell me afterwards. Then I asked them what it means to be "as tall as you"

I had them do the worksheet first and then we checked with the PPT.

For the wheel of fortune game, I had them do it it pairs, where the one student asks the questions and the other answers and writes down his/her answers. We used a paper clip and a pencil. Place the paper clip at the centre, use the pencil point to hold the pencil clip in place and then flick the paper clip with your fingers so that it spins around. Where it stops, is your fortune. The outer words are the answers for Q1&2, then proceed with Q3,4,5 for the next. I hope my explanations make sense, here's a link:

After they did the activity, I asked them who had the best and the worst fortunes and I let students answer. Some classes loved this activity, some didn't. This wasn't my best lesson, but I thought I'd upload as it might help someone else. Some students really liked the wheel of fortune game though.
