Here is a ppt to describe the key phrases, it's quite simple.  I've also attached a board game. You'll have to sort out the formatting. It has to be used on large paper.

Thank you for the Blockbusters game.  The kids loved it.

I'm thinking about a variation on "Mother May I?"  I'm still brainstorming on it, but it might just be a reverse Simon Says game.  Let one student be "Mother" and the other students ask "Mother (or Father if it's a boy), may I jump?"  And "Mother" answers "Yes you may" or "No you may not."  And rotate out "mother" every 3 or so turns.  Could have them play in separate groups first, then as a whole class.

I made a story PPT that you can use with the students for Warm Up/Motivation.  You can get them to say the target language along with you.  My students loved it.

It's Bob the Big Good Wolf.  A different take on The Three Little Pigs.  When he comes to the Pigs' houses, he knocks and politely asks "May I come in?"  There's a couple surprises.
Feel free to edit it or do whatever you wish with it.

Can someone repost the Blockbuster.ppt.  I can't open the file and when the download completes it's only about 3MB instead of the 6MB listed.

Here's some stuff that I've modified from other posts. The first a Blockbuster game, 2nd is masterdirector's great Bob:The Big Good Wolf story which I changed slightly (mostly just animation stuff). My students LOVED the story! 3rd is a practice PPT for the key expressions with a guessing game at the end.

CT wants focus on 4 main phrases from period 1

May I come in? go? try? sit down?

Therefore this ppt isn't too extensive, but addresses some of the target language, particularly for the beginning of Lesson 16.

Typhoon Game.

MEMORY GAME FOR PERIOD ONE
« Reply #18 on: December 15, 2010, 03:27:04 pm »
This is a matching pairs game for period one, also known as pelmanism or concentration. Clicking the cards takes you to a hyperlinked picture. Clicking the stars, removes the cards.

Suggested procedure (for playing in two teams):

Step one: one team chooses a blue card. The teacher clicks on the card (but not the star). The students then ask the question “May I…?” according to the picture. Press the home button to return to this page.

Step Two: The second team chooses a purple card. If it matches, they say: “yes, you may” and the first team gets one point.

Step three: When the cards match, the teacher may click the appropriate stars to make the cards disappear.

PASS THE BALL GAME (chapter 16)
« Reply #19 on: December 15, 2010, 06:20:46 pm »
Includes the original textbook pictures. When the music plays, the students pass the ball, when it stops, the one holding the ball says the sentence that corresponds to the picture on screen.
