I edited the old version of worksheets.  You can use it on the first period.
Also I found some youtube clips for motivations.

I used a simple commands game to review directions with the kids. They loved it! Didn't want to stop playing  ;)

They had to stand up and follow my commands. If they messed up, they had to sit down.

Turn right.
Turn left.
Go left.
Go right.
Go straight.
Next to (get next to someone)
Between (three people, someone between)
Behind. (turn around)
In front of (kids had to try to get in front of someone)

I also edited this bomb powerpoint I got off one of the other similar lessons. It is a good review!

Does anyone else have a problem with the sentence "Let's go with us"?

Daegyo 6th grade 2-1. Here's a ppt to practice different places and directions. It includes a memory game.

@hongman.
Let's go with us doesn't make sense.

I think us was supposed to be them.

Let's go with them-makes sense.

It's sort of like (she wants to go to the store with he). Him

@ money 55

In the context of the dialogue I think it should be "Let's go together' or "Come with us"

Anyways, no biggie. I just told the kids it didn't make sense and gave them a better option. Sometimes a highlighted mistake actually helps them to remember.

Simple ppt game to practice directions with students. Feel free to change the wording to match what you've been teaching your students!

Lesson 2-2. Pair work activity to practice giving and listening to directions. I've included a matching ppt.

I've gone ahead and modified last year's introduction worksheet to match this years Fun Talk section. The vocab is about the same though.

edit: I found a small mistake during my class on the worksheet that I missed before. To the 30 or so people who had downloaded it previously, redownload if you'd like. It was small though and it's fixed now.

A game of 'Blind Man's Buff' might be appropriate as an initial warm up, to remind the children of words they already know.
turn left, turn right, go straight ahead.

I love that song. Thanks for the excuse to play that song in class! LOL, now I have to tie in directions to the vid --  "Where is the truck going? Left? Right?"

This is NOT mine, but it's great! I haven't taken the time to edit it so that it's just a directions game (this was a review he did at the end of the semester/year I think), but just in case I severely mess things up I thought I'd upload the original first. This is wesbroe's. He was a lecturer at my orientation last September and he was AMAZING! All of his games are great, and if you search his name you'll find that he's posted about 20 to a thread that had to do with a different orientation.

My one question to all of you out there: do you have any tips on how I edit this monster? I'm afraid of ruining the triggers/hyperlinks and messing things up! I'm not a whiz with powerpoint like he is.

I found this in last year's "Where is Gyeongbukgung?" thread. So all the credit must go to the original creators. I just thought I would make people aware of it for the 2012 book and also add a suitable timer for the activity.

The Superman game! I put a twist on the cinderella game in the textbook. One person is Superman and he or she must go outside of the classroom. Once Superman is out, choose one person to be Lois, one person to be Lex, and 5 more people to be the helpful citizens. Superman will not know who Lois is and must find her before the time is up. Lois will stay seated at the desk/table and the five citizens and Lex will stand up front. One person at a time will give directions to Superman one line at a time. (ie: "go straight 10 steps." "Turn right." etc.) The helpful citizens will give him the correct directions while Lex will give him the wrong directions. Again, Superman will not know who Lex is. He has only 2 minutes to "save" Lois or she "dies". They love it.

I made a quick PPT to go along with gracie's twist on the book's Find Cinderella game.  Props to gracie for the awesome idea  ^_^  Can't wait to play it with my kids!

Hey that superman game is awesome but any ideas of putting into Korean context? My kids don't know who the hell Lois Lane or Lex Luthor is. Maybe "Iron Man" game is something they'd understand. I'll try replacing Superman with Iron man, Lois with "citizen in danger", Lex with....?

And I modified that game to include 4 "citizens" and 3 "bad guys", otherwise it was way too easy. You the boys love to play the bad guys so they had a lot of fun with that. This game is great at getting them to practice English!
