Where can get these attachments and do you have for 5th graders as well. I need a source to look for some information that translates everything for the students. Thanks ^_^

This wordbank is AMAZING! Thanks so much! I was looking for something to use to fill in the 'last' slot with our 6th graders every other week, and this will do just nicely as a follow up.

I wish I could make something as neat as this. I may work on it... IF I ever get a copy of the textbooks and teachers guides to look at myself. Today is my first day at my elementary school, and I was informed that there are no classes today, so now I'm looking for things to work with. I didn't even know which textbook I'd be using until today o.o!

This is a neat outline to work on. Thanks so much!

I actually took the WordBuilder that JC49 created and added to it to make it the full textbook (as my elementary school liked it so much they requested a full textbook version so we could make a bound book for each student. So I am attaching that to this post. Thanks so much JC49 for your hard work.

I'm also currently making a 5th grade textbook version as well, so will upload it when I'm done with that too.

The idea that my co-teacher and I put forward to the principal in using this book is that students will write the 10 key words out 5 times each night (so 50words a night) and then when we finish the unit (so basically every 2 weeks) they will use the sentences page as a 'test' and they will be awarded stickers or stamps for getting the sentences right. The catch is, they can not look back at the key words list when filling in the sentences. After they've done that, the list of korean words on the side of the sentence page will be used to check they can tell us the english words allowed. So they get reading, writing and speaking tested all in a couple of minutes.

We've made a deal with the students that they will get 1 sticker/stamp for completing the homework each week, and if they get 10/10 they will get 9 more stickers, 9/10 = 8 stickers and so forth. IF they get 10 stickers for 1 week, they will get candy, if they get 10/10 every week for the first semester they get to choose a movie together ... if only 1 person gets 10/10 then that person chooses the movie that they will see for the last class of the semester.

I hope this gives some ideas on how this could potentially be used.

For those of you using the blue Frances Sohn textbook for grade 6, i've altered a YuGION game as a chapter 1-3 review.

I have developed one lesson worth of revision materials for lesson 1-4.

The activities are based on lessons and key words from lessons 1-4.

Activity 1)

Milling activity. Students are given cards with one question from Lessons 1-4. They then meet other students and ask them the question from their card. Each card also has an answer to that for all 4 questions that students are revising.

The attached PPT file contains the cards given to each student and 4 slides which can be used to drill students.

Activity 2)

Sentence Relay. Students are in teams. Students take turns to run to the teacher's desk, read a sentence there, run back to their group and another student writes it down.
There are 4 sentences which are copied down and then 4 sentences which are answers to questions in these lessons. If a students want to they can write down the question and thus get more points.

My school is having a song tournament for all of the grades; Attached is a .doc of the songs my 6th graders have selected from the songs they covered. I put this thread here because I didn't really know where else to put it and I'll leave it open like this because I've the sneaking suspicion I'll have to make one of these for my grades 3-6.

This is a 'trashball' game to review lessons 1-4.

I've cobbled this together from various other things posted - so thanks to all the original contributors :)

1st - you'll need a ball and some sort of receptacle (I used an old candy container) to be used as the 'basket.'

2nd - after students answer a question correctly - just click to the next slide (or use down arrow). They choose box 1, 2 or 3 and this determines how many shots they get to put the ball in the basket. *Click the bottom right basketball pic to return to the question selection screen.*

3rd - I made 2 throwing distances, 1 for 2 points and 1 for 1point.

Enjoy - my students loved it!

I offer the game of Sentence Fight to revise lessons 1-3.

1) Sentences are placed in a line along the black board. Get students to read out sentences in a listen and repeat exercise.
2) Students are in two teams at either end of the line.
3) One team member from each team starts to read out sentences from their end and keeps reading sentences as they walk towards the other team.
4) When the students meet each other they play rock paper scissors. The loser is out and the winner keeps reading the sentences. Another student from the team that lost the rock paper scissors starts reading sentences from their end while the winning student keeps getting closer. When they meet they play rock paper scissors. The losing student is out and replaced by another member of their team who has to start reading sentences from the beginning.
4b) When a student wins they keep reading until the reach the end or they get out. No stopping.
5) When a student has read all the sentences without losing any rock paper scissors (that is getting out) their team gets a point.

It is best to demonstrate this game buy having two demo teams (2 students, and you + co teacher). Co teacher starts reading the sentences at one end while you help the first student read theirs. When they meet rock paper scissors and then if the co teacher loses you replace them (at this point it helps to read out the sentences really fast as this adds a bit of competition to the class at gives the message that it is a race (the students are also impressed).)

One set of sentences is fine for a class of 15, however for my classes which are 30 students we split the class in half with half the class being taken by the co teacher at the back and the rest at the black board.

I have used teams of girls vrs. boys.

Students may mumble and thus be prepared to disqualify students who mumble.

I have used this game with 4 and 6th grade students previously, the PPT contains sentences from Lessons 1-3.

WARNING - Your classroom will get very noisy.

I have prepared the game of action chant. It should take between 15 to 30 minutes depending on how well you stretch this game out and how many repeats and how many levels you do (I always try and have to much stuff prepared rather than too little).

It is for the revision of lessons 1-3. You will need some way of making a beat, such as drum sticks.

When they students see the symbol they do the actions while the read the sentences.
The actions are self explanatory expect for the cross, here they cross their arms together.

Varations in game play.
1) Divide the class into teams one team does actions the rest read. Pick the best students from each team for do the actions in front of the class for sweets.
2) Divide class into teams with one team doing part A and one part doing part b.
3) Speed up the reading of the sentence.

I made this PPT for my 6th grade class because I found they were too stressed for Chinese Whispers. However I have now found that they are going to a musical instead, so I have yet to try this PPT with a class. :( However I have played the same game with 4th grade and 6th grade classes before so there should be no problem in using this game with a 6th grade class. :)

A writing lesson for 6th grade practicing Lessons 4-6. It will take 40 minutes.

You will need
Students in groups
A co teacher (for classes larger than 15) - needed for Pictionary Relay.
Pieces of paper for the students - scrap
Whiteboards, markers and whiteboard duster. (Or lots of scrap paper).
A trash can.

Note: Make sure the students take turns doing each activity otherwise weaker students will not participate.

Part A - Pictionary Relay
Divide the class into teams. Students take turns to get words from the teacher and draw them for the group. One teacher gives sentences for 3 groups and the other teacher gives sentences for the other group. The first groups to Finnish get points for their team.

Part B- Trashball
Show the slide from the PPT, get one student in the team to answer it with the help of their collegues. They make a trashball with their paper and then throw it into the trash can. If they get it in they get a point for their team. Then check the answers for each team which got their answer in the trash can and then give them an extra points if they are right (outlined on the next slide). You an make these games more fun by having extra trash cans with various points.

There are far to many sentences for the period, however this should prevent you running out of activities.
