Hi everyone!
I think on the first day of class, one should prepare a powerpoint with lots of pictures about oneself and one's family and tell one's class about the places one has lived or visited, however... since I have been at my schools for two years, these kids know me already. oh, they would enjoy it, I'm sure, but we've "been there, done that." I work in one middle school and two elementary. My last year's 6th graders are this year's 1st year middle school students. I think I know all but one student. So we are not doing introductions--not 50 minutes worth!
I was told this morning that our tv/computer set up is down, so I have to prepare a lesson plan without using electronics. I found some funny pictures on animals on the internet. I'll post some pictures here so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about. I have very small class sizes, so at most, I need 15 pictures. I am going to pass out a picture to each student and ask them to write a story about the picture. Please specify how many sentence you want then to write. I will write three questions on the board, ask them to pick one question. 1) what is s/he doing? 2) what happened? (how did s/he get here?) 3) what will happen next? I will give them 10 minutes to write and then ask them to read.
I have to laminate my pictures if I expect to reuse them again for anything.
and of course, I'm removing any inappropriate captions.
suggestions for improvement always welcome!
