High School English - Edward Roland Gray
« on: March 05, 2012, 05:33:09 PM »
These lessons follow the book 'High School English' written by 관오량, and ending with Edward Roland Gray.
The lessons will be uploaded as I finish them, as I will be making them throughout the term. They follow the book lessons exactly because my school requires that the native teacher be responsible for the speaking portions of the lesson. Feel free to format as you see fit.

Lesson 1 of the 2nd grade book 'High School English I' with the same authors.
Follows the same format as the 1st grade one.

Here is week two's lesson plans for both Grade 1 and Grade 2. The first one is the Let's Communicate page from Grade 1. It is purely a listening to a CD and fill in the answer and then the students are given time to talk. The students have monitors in front of them, so I have a slide telling them to turn them off, and a review of the previous lesson.
The second one is Grade 2. It is mostly an active activity using cards depicting the events on the page and then four more added. Having them go through the situations and then presenting in front of the class 1 situation. I also have a listening exercise that is the song "Everything is Alright" by Motion City Soundtrack. It gives a more fun tie-in to end this lesson. The youtube is linked to the last word and the last two slides, if printed, were what I used as the cards for the activity.

How does using the cd's work, do they make a good activity? I am having difficulty trying to come up with more fun activities for each lesson.

I have been told I have to loosely use these textbooks.

I take a couple of the activities from the textbook and then develop my own tasks. For example, I used the story of Martin Luther King and how he wanted to change things about the world and then got students to think of things they would like to change about their school. They then created their perfect school, which took two lessons for them to create posters of their school and then deliver a speaking task on it.

I am quite interested in how people are going to deliver the tea chapter for Grade 2.

Hi,
I have this SAME textbook. But, I have to do the Let's Listen Activities.
For Grade 1 and 2 I have done Chapter 7-10. I can share my PPT's if anyone needs them.

Does anybody else do the LET's LISTEN? I would greatly appreciate your help.

Thank you- Jen
