I recently taught students about where different sports are most popular around the world.... I used this great site called prezi.com to create an awesome interactive presentation: http://prezi.com/pwot85mtdi-h/world-of-sports/

I am new to prezi, but have found that it is a great teaching tool! The presentations are easy to make... you can easily insert pictures, text and even embed youtube videos!

For this lesson, we reviewed the sports along the top, then we looked at the map and I had students come up front and point to the country where the sport in question is most popular.... "Where is soccer most popluar?" The student pointed to a country then we zoomed into the presentation to see if he/she was right... "Soccer is most popular in Brazil." Of course there was some debate on which sports belonged where, but it was lots of fun!!

Here are two sets of cards you can use for the Q: Can you play sport?
One set of cards is for team sports and has the word "play" before the name of the sport. Eg. I can play baseball.
The other set of cards is for individual sports and just has the name of the sport. Eg. I can swim.

I usually explain to Ss that team sports and often sports that use a ball have the word "play" before the name of the sport.
Individual sports do no usually use the word play.  I explain like this to help Ss decide when they need to say "play + sport" or just say the "sport".

I made 3 sports lesson for my low levels.
The first lesson is a ppt with vocabe for 9 different sports and some uniform vocabulary, with a wkst to follow along and a word search if there is too much time.
The second lesson is a ppt with vocabe for a few new sports and sport equipment with a review spin the wheel game for the first two lessons.
The final lesson introduces a few "crazy sports" around the world and has a wkst to follow along. After they make a crazy sport of their own in groups and present them to the class.

For afterschool (3rd and 4th graders):
Sports Vocabulary (with Korean translations) ppt to match attached activity sheets. The students will have to circle the right vocabulary word on the pictionary sheet as I go through the ppt. May also show sports compilation videos like these:
