Well I spend about 5-6 minutes explaining the game. Class is 45 minutes. So that's a solid 40 minutes of students speaking in English to one another. You'll have students finish early, in which case you have two options. You can give both students different boards. OR you can give them some blank boards allowing them to place the ships where they want to.  Keep a lot of spare blank boards for the students who ask to take them home and play.

otherwise you can tell me what to fill everything in with.
