The sponge bob game is an awesome idea but what does the hongul say and is that a game at the end of the powerpoint? Thanks
Oh, I'm sorry I didn't explain my ppt better! (@_@)!!!
Slide 1: Introduction, to get the Ss into the mood about todays lesson.
Slide 2: Vocab practice. Please add more words if you need to.
Slide 3: Basic fast food dialog.
My Ss level is quite high, so they know most of these things already.
I put the dialog in Korean so that I could check how much they knew.
Dialog is as follows:
SB: Hello
S: Hello
SB: May I take your order?
S: I'd like a ___.
SB: Anything else?
S: ___, please.
SB: OK. Please wait five minutes.
Here you are.
S: Thank you.Slide 4 & 5: More practice of the target dialog
Slide 6: The whole dialog. I tell the Ss that I am Sponge Bob and they are Partick. let's have a conversation.
Then we switch. I'm Patrick and they are Sponge Bob.
If there is time, I let them practice once with their partners.
Slide 7 & 8: Game (Collect as many cards as possible)
Ss are given 5~6 playing cards. (I used the pictures from the vocab slide)
Ss go around that class playing ROCK PAPER SCISSORS.
The winner will get to order, so the loser must start with the greeting "Hello", followed by "May I take your order."
The winner can then ask for any card they want: "
Cola, please."
If the loser has a cola card, they must give it to the winner and say the phrase, "Here you are."
If the loser does not have a cola card, they must say, "Sorry! Sold out!" and the winner gets no card.
Ss then find a new partner and try again.
At the end of the time limit (5~10minutes of play time) the Ss with the most cards is the winner and will get a small prize (sticker, candy etc.)
Sorry again for my lack of explanation (>_<)
