Here is Grade 3 Lesson 3 Part A (Do you remember?)

Slide 23 Jay Sean - Do you remember? You must play until 1:20 in order for the sunglasses to appear, but normally I play until 2:00 so they can hear "do you remember" again.

Slides 31-34 were 2 videos of Nemo when Dori first meets Marlin and you find out Dori has short term memory loss (1 in Korean and 1 in English)

Slides 71 and beyond are the memory game. You need to click the black circle for the 1 minute timer (it has a bell sound at the end). They are given 1 minute to look at the photo then they must answer 1 "do you remember" question.

Thanks boll, I'm totally using that Jay Sean video and several of your slides :)

Here is a little (maybe 5 minutes) activity to practice "I'm glad to hear that" -type phrases. The instructions are on three powerpoint slides so they can easily be inserted into the rest of your lesson, or used for review. Nice to get the kids talking to each other a bit.

All you need is dice! One per group (my class is arranged in groups of 4, but groups of 2-6 would all be fine)

I'm working on a ThinkPairShare activity for "do you remember?", will post as soon as it's done.

Apparently a lot of people are already on the next chapter? Oops...well, maybe this stuff will be useful for review, or for teachers coming in next year.

Anyway, here is the think pair share activity. Kids should take turns asking their partners the questions on the slides. They get 90 seconds to answer the question, in English. This is pretty much how the NEAT speaking test works, so it's good practice for them. There are six questions, so the activity can also work for a group of 3 if you have an odd number of kids in your class.

I taught my lesson today and found a few errors. Below are the corrected versions. I'll delete the original post.

Lesson: "Listen In" from page 42.
Explains listening for gist and detail.
For the slide where students are supposed to listen to your natural speech, I just tell a story about my weekend for 30 seconds without grading my language. Students write down 5 words they hear. I write them on the board afterwards and students discuss (in Korean) what they think they heard.

If you have access to the textbook online, you can play the dialogue audio from there. If not, I'll attach the scripts. (I think there's still a typo on the scripts- that/than-, but students won't see that.)

I feel like I hit the lesson planning jackpot with the posts by waygook user "boll"- Thank you SO much for what you've posted. I especially love the Korean that's supplied in many of the slides.

I adapted part of boll's materials to make a lesson for "Do You Remember" (p. 43.) Included in the ppt below:

-Review of giving advice (from page 27)
-Introduction of "Do You Remember" (with Jay Sean video)
-More practice with "Do You Remember" (I have some personal slides on there you'll need to change- considering your students probably won't remember that I have a dog named Gizmo!)
-Dialogue practice/listening with page 42 (You can use the online textbook or read it yourself/with the class.)
-Two links to memory games, including an online "Simon"

I'm not teaching this until next week, so it's quite possible there won't be time for the games. I'm also wondering if the sites will be blocked at my school. I'll let you know.
