I used Lady Gaga and Beyonce, lol, because I teach all girls and Lady Gaga is a fashion icon. So, her crazy fashion could be of interest to the students.

Change slide 28 to your pictures and slide 1 to your name.

I adapted kitty bawdens ppt with another ppt I found on waygook about shopping.

I then used the dream home game worksheet as the main activity in class, that somebody else posted on here.

I normally use a song at the start of class and get the students to fill in the missing lyrics as a warm up, so 'dedicated follower of fashion was a great way to start the class and the students enjoyed the song too!

 I played a concentration game with the class (Guess Where) to practice some of the vocab from this chapter. The students seemed to like it, even the trouble maker and the quiet kids. It took up about 20 or 30 minutes.

Before the game I went over how to say numbers (twenty, thirty, forty, etc.), so it was a good review of that too.

Students play in pairs.

Then they need to make a dialog to go with the clothing

I don't quite understand how the class plays this

How to play:

Choose a pair (2 students)
Student A chooses a letter i.e A
Student B chooses a letter i.e B
Click A and B
there will be two items of clothing
i.e A is a shirt
B is a pair of shoes
There is no match.

Next pair can try.

Student C chooses letter C
and Student D chooses letter D
Click C and D
there will be two items of clothing
i.e. a dress and a dress
Dress C will have a "O", this is the one they want to buy.
Dress D will have a "X", this is the one they don't like because of the colour, design, pattern etc.
Because they found two of the same, they must now make a dialog to go with the picture.
i.e.
Student C: I'm looking for a dress.
Student D: How about this one? (points to the dress with the "X")
Student C: I don't like the (pattern/colour/design). Do you have any other ones?
Student D: Sure, we do. How about this one? (points to the dress with the "O")
Student C: I'll take it.

Students C and D found a matching pair and they could make a dialog, so you can give them a sticker and the next pair can try.
Game is over when all the matches have been made.

I expanded "other" to include any other adjectives to make the lesson a little more interesting. During the presentation, click the blocks to reveal the dialogue.

Also included is a worksheet and a game.

The game might be a little confusing. You're helping Obama shop. He's looking for something kind of specific. It'll have 3 adjectives. The students "Do you have any __ ones?" If you do click the appropriate letter on the grid (there's a cheatsheet attached). The students need to figure out along which dimensions things are varying. For example, the first one (sunglasses) varies by size and colour (yellow -> green). Every time you show them a new item, click the obama silhouette to see how he feels. If he looks excited, they're almost there. They need to guess the one additional adjective by asking, "Do you have any ____, ____, _____ ones?"

The first one is "big, green, shiny ones?"
They should already know that they're big and green because when you click the obama silhouette on the big green glasses, he'll look excited (he usually looks bored).

If a team asks "Do you have..." and my answer is yes, I give a point as long as we haven't already seen that item.

If they guess the full 3 adjective one, I give them 3 points. To go to that slide, click the smiling obama
