From the other Thomas Orr thread:

http://prezi.com/ppmg2nnyzakq/3l8/

this is Machoman's prezi. It's pretty good and features a flying zombie laser shark. So that's always good.

This is a PPT concentrating on the WRITE ON part on pg 133 of the textbook.
I've turned the B part into a group exercise where the students have to get into pairs or groups of 3 to make a poster.
'Mission Possible' pg 135 is also included in the PPT.

oops I was meant to write Mission POSSIBLE not IMPOSSIBLE on the slide haha...

My kids really love when we do songs, so "If I Had A Million Dollars" is a perfect fit for the Speak Out section with the "What would you do if / I would..." section. Normally, I do a fill in the blanks lyrics page, but the song is so repetitive it is rather pointless, so we're just going to work on making the song sound good in two parts.

I also explained what Kraft Dinner was on the bottom of the handout because it's pretty uniquely Canadian. :)

Vevo have an official karaoke version here --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ou39OMQLbZc

Here's a review game for the lesson - thanks to the op for the template.

(just save the sound files in the same folder as the game and it should play well. My second school doesn't have sound working in the English room, but the lesson was still fun.)

The topic of this lesson is "hypothetically speaking", which builds on the second Speak Out topic on page 125 of Lesson 8.

Here is a worksheet I pulled from bogglesworldesl.com and reformatted/expanded.
I have also attached a powerpoint to supplement the worksheet.

Here is a link to the materials related to hypotheticals on bogglesworldesl:

The card game is great for more advanced students!

Lesson 8 Part 1A and Part 1B! (I've done it in this way to stretch out the lesson) Part 2 to follow.

Thanks to all the OPs

Part 1A:

And a special thanks to the teacher who made that sweet Kung Fu Panda ppt, I used it to reiterate the basics and the students love the Draw the Missing Body part Dialogue game. You play it by splitting the class into three teams and draw three limbless bodies on the board. I have students come up in pairs. One asks the question, one answers. They roll the die and whatever number it lands on, that's the body part they must draw. It gets really weird when the students keep rolling the same number, leaving their people with 4 eyes and an arm. First team to complete their body, wins (FYI we have never finished this game)

As for the make Your Own Sentence part, I just asked the students to make 3  funny sentences and draw a picture to match it. I'm sure it can be turned into a game or something more interesting!!

Part 1B:

Pretty self explanatory. The game is a running dictation. Which is so fun to watch, but as loud as old boots!

(side note: 1B is PINK. You'll see what I mean)
