These files were harvested from last year's conversation line.
If using these make sure you try them all out first so that you find any errors or omissions that may be in them. I haven't reviewed every single one yet, and there is always the possibility that one of the questions is something like "Where did David-Teacher go on vacation?" So keep your eyes out for things like that, but here are some of the projects (without instructions or experience listed, so think before you present!) that others have created for this lesson for this book in the past ~ and remember, these are all creative projects that can be bent and shaped more to your classes and to your liking, so dive in and craft, or enjoy that others already have, or a little of both.
But enjoy none-the-less.
Cheers,
Jimmer

I have an open class coming up with Grade 2 students. The lesson is based on topics found in Christian H. Kim's Middle School English 2 Chapter 11 but you don't need the textbook to be able to use this lesson. Would probably be OK for grade 1 and grade 3. This was taken from stuff that other people uploaded but edited and moved around a bit so credit goes to them (I can't remember their usernames).
I've uploaded a PPT and worksheets to use - There are 2 worksheets, one for Team 1 and one for Team 2 for the pair exercise. The back of both sheets are the same. Also included a relevant Blockbuster Game (which I've edited slightly but certainly didn't create) in case there's still time left at the end. Please give any feedback on how the lesson went and feel free to modify and reupload improved versions. Cheers
Part 1 - "Do you mind if...?" Battleships
(1) Go through the dialogue on slide 2, check SS understand meaning of "Do you mind if...?" --> 5 mins
(2) Go through the next few slides explaining how to play the game. --> 10 mins
(3) Students play the game in pairs (have them sit opposite each other and tell them to fold their papers over so their partner can't cheat. Maybe give candy to the winner of each pair to discourage cheating). --> 10 mins
Part 2 - That's quite different from
(1) Go through dialogue on the slides with students. Elicit meaning and discuss how western cultures see things differently etc. --> 10 mins
(2) Have SS circle the answers which they think fit together. Explain dialogue. Have SS practice dialogue together. --> 10 mins.
Part 3 - Blockbusters Game, Self explanatory.

Here is my PPT with two lessons worth, plus a document containing a lesson plan for each lesson.
I included the Cultural Differences PPT posted above in my PPT.
Although they aren't included in my lesson, I did play both the Battleships and the Blockbuster games posted above with my classes, and they loved them both.
Beware though, the Battleships game can take a whole class up, simply due to the explaining.
Hope it helps!

Here's a ppt for this chapter.
The game on slide 10 I learned from Wes Boer during his lecture at the EPIK orientation in October 2012. Students are in pairs. One student starts at the elephant and the other at the cow. They read out loud the text in the text boxes, one box after the other as quick as they can, simultaneously. When they 'meet' i.e. when they are reading the same text box at the same time, they stop and play rock paper scissors. The winner starts again from the same place and the loser has to go back to the beginning; either the elephant or the cow, depending which one they started from. They keep going until one of them reaches the other end from which they started. It gets loud but it's a great way to get the students all practicing the target language at the same time. I think it's best to print out sopies of slide 10 and give one to each pair rather than have the students reading from the screen.
JamesBondGibbon's battleships game is fantastic for this chapter so that's in there too.
I'm basically just re-posting the hard work of others
