Here's a ppt for the first class. It gives English/Korean for 8 subjects and practices them with a disappearing dialogue for the sentences "What is your favorite subject? My favorite subject is _____."
At the beginning of the class I plan to use the sound of musics "My favorite things". I found this youtube video that has pictures that go along with the song, which will hopefully improve the students listening. I plan to review the word favorite, ask the students to listen for her favorites, write their answers on the board adding in ones that they miss, then watch again.

PPT for period 1 for the Listen & Speak, and Listen & Play activities.
I will also use AndyT910's PPT as an intro for this lesson.
If using AndyT910's PPT, the text on some of the slides needs to be changed to match the picture.

Andy, that's a great powerpoint!
I modified it a bit by adding the key expressions for the lessons as well as some more practice with gerunds at the end using the key expression "I like _________."

I am using these activities for the last lesson. The first one is a dictation relay. There are 12 sentences hanging around the room. The students work in pairs, one student writes while the other reads the sentence and then tells the other what to write. I have each group start at a different number 1-12 and then proceed to the next highest number with 12 going to 1. This prevents large groups of students at one paper.
At the beginning I have them do RPS and the winner will write 1-6 and the loser will write 7-12. It would be easier for them if I had the winner write the first 6 sentences and the loser write the second set of 6, but that's harder for me to explain. I can easily show 1-6, 7-12 on the board.
When they finish I have them bring me the paper and I check it. I underline any mistakes and they must correct them before I will sign off on their paper.
There will be students in your class that can not write and they will usually be paired with a higher level student who will get very frustrated. A teacher will need to work with these groups. If the low level student knows the alphabet a teacher will need spell almost every word for the student. If not, then the teacher can write and the student can copy. It's not easy, but it can work and both students will appreciate your effort.... most of the time.
This takes about 20 minutes. Then in the second half I plan to do the Mario game. A tip about team selection. I ALWAYS number the groups 1-6 and use numbered ping pong balls to randomly select the groups. I hate having groups beg to be chosen. Also when choosing the groups i can wait for the class to become completely quiet, which helps manage the noise level. Random selection is also effective in choosing groups when they don't want to do something, like speak in front of the class. It's difficult for them to argue with random selection. Good Luck
EDIT: the ppt game had some issues. I think they've all been corrected.

Hi everyone,
I took the liberty to use and modified another Waygook's PPT, as well as added a few more pictures with various sports, so as to include lesson two.
I combined the two key phrases into one PPT for example:
What's your favorite class? My favorite class is________
If SS sees a sport, they should say I like basketball too, but I can't play very well.
Place SS in teams of two or three. If a subject appears,
All SS say aloud, "What's your favorite subject?" The leader of the opposite team will pick a SS from the other team to response. (You can make it a point game and hand out rewards at the end of period.
Good luck, please see attached PPT

Here's a
writing station activity
. I had the students push their desks/tables together into 5 groups. Numbered each group and put a few of the #2, 3, & 4 papers on the corresponding tables. At first I used a timer and had the students move after 3 minutes. I found that it works much better if you just let the students move to the next station when they finish. Most of the students will finish in 15 minutes.
I've also attached some
flash cards
that I used to teach the subjects. I started with a pretest. I folded the papers in half and put them on the board with the Korean showing and numbered them 1-8. Then on the other side of the board I wrote the English words. I gave them 2-3 minutes to number their notebook and write the English word. I then unfolded the papers. I said the English word and the students repeated in English and Korean. Then I folded the paper so only the English showed and did listen and repeat again. Then I had them write the English words 3 times in their notebook, about 4 minutes. Finally, I wrote "What is your/his/her favorite subject?" and "My/His/Her favorite subject is ___." on the board. I asked the question and pointed to a subject, the student answered. If you keep this less than 20 minutes the students will stay interested.

here are flash cards I made for this unit (I took the pictures from a post on this thread so thanks)
for a good size opent PPT and when printing select the option for handouts (select 1 or 2 slides per page) I find 2 is perfect size but my classes only have like 8 kids. So maybe bigger for bigger class.
Then just cut, laminate and cut again.

YOU SUNK MY BATTLESHIP (BATTLESHIP GAME)
Here is a Battleship game i got from waygook.org and edited for practising the expressions in Story A.
I suggest you laminate the cards so that it could be reusable.
I intentionally left some space below the
headers/titles
on the cards so that, you can have students write different words in them and use the game to practise different expressions/sentences.
Have fun.

Period 2
ppt that reviews the target phrase "Do you like ____ing?"
Modified from another post.
Period 3 Letters and Sounds
ppt that focuses and expands on the 'Letters and Sounds' section.
For the game part, students can take turns coming up and being the "teacher".
Period 6 Writing
Extra worksheet for the fast finishers
1. Unscramble to make a word. BUT. There's an unnecessary letter included as well.
Answers: favorite, season, badminton, watching movies.
2. Write the sentence correctly below.
Students have to check for punctuation and spelling errors.
1 slide ppt
that demonstrates the mindmap activity
Period 7 Wrap Up
Do and Show
We did a bingo game instead. The kids loved it.
Students walk around and find people who match the pictures on their card.
Q: What's your favorite ______? A: My favorite ________ is _________.
Q: Do you like ______ing? A: Yes, I do. / No, I don't.
The World and Me
I didn't actually get to use this ppt. But for anyone who wants to give it a go ...
The aim was to get the students thinking about strange or weird subjects. Then get them to think about some things they like and what they want to learn. The students can then draw and write what they want to learn in their notebooks.

Here is the bomb game I am using on Friday for the last period. I found the template already on my computer, so I have no idea who to credit, but my kids asked for a maple story game, so I made it. There are no answers written in the game, and there is a portion where you the teacher rock, paper scissors against the students. If they win, press the blonde boy. If you win, press the bad guy.
I haven't tried it on a real class, so feel free to let me know how it goes!
I also made this zombie game which I did use in class. it went over really well, but there are a few bugs I honestly haven't bothered to fix. Just reused slides so the animation doesn't do it's thing...

Hello all,
I thought this video might be helpful for this lesson. Perhaps show it to the kids and give them a task like figuring how many times math was mentioned, or what was the most popular subject etc... Or just as filler if necessary.

Happy teaching.

Here is a powerpoint that sort of breaks down grammar and reviews lesson 3. At the end, I pasted a Basketball Game from another's powerpoint because my co-teacher wants to be reviewing. If you do not want the Basketball Game delete the slides. I hope you find this useful.
I also tried to create an updated version of a K-pop Bombgame called Big Bang Bombgame 36 questions. I apologize for the pictures that are not cleaned well I rushed the job and got lazy
. It is my first time creating a bomb game so not sure if it works on anybody else's computer so tell me if there is something wrong.
