Here is a worksheet, presentation, and annoying orange game for this lesson. I think everything works but I could have missed something. Please check before using!

*Edit*: I updated the powerpoint a bit and fixed a few things.

Lesson based around the conversation page. I spend time asking about the meanings of the words that are new and play a short game like speech bubbles or pictionary at the end to fill a whole class.

**EDIT** updated worksheet to remove superfluous "the"

Thanks very much imstuckinglue, your lesson and game just saved my lazy ass that hadn't got anything together until about 30 minutes before I had to teach! I'll put my amalgam of your stuff with some other bits that I did up later.

Lesson 1 week 2: This is mostly ripped off from I'mstuckinglue but I've added a part about the different parts of a newspaper and I game where the students have to match up news stories with headlines and pictures.

TBH I didn't like the matching exercise because it takes a lot of time cutting out and handing out the stories and my students finished it in about 1 minute (I told them to put their hands up when finished and the fastest team wins some class points)

These are the lessons I used for Lesson 1. I don't have to follow the textbook strictly so I just take an expression or two out and form a PPT around them.

I hope it can be helpful to someone!

Here is a ppt for Lesson 1. Students are to prepare interview questions at the end of class and then the next class is used for interview each other. The students are supposed to think of 10 questions to ask another student. I use 10 min to do the textbook conversation, 15-20 min for the interview. and 10-15 for students to model their interviews to the class.

Here is a lesson I put together by adding things to items I got here, and putting a few items from different lessons together.
