:D     You can use this for your first class to describe prepositions of place and ordinal numbers.    I'm posting both the 2007 pptx and the 2003 ppt version.

Telepathy game.

Each student has an answer sheet. They must write a full sentence (and fill in the blanks with their prediction). If their answer is right and they've written the sentence correctly they get 1 point.

Here is the link to a pervious book that covered this same material.  There are some good ppts and worksheets on this topic that can be useful for lesson 6 "It's on the second floor."

I have always used this music generator to practice ordinal numbers.  I have numbers written out on a piece of paper along the borders.  The students have to make sentences using those ordinal numbers in a sentence.  Students always have fun and they make decent songs sometimes.

Obviously,,,this is a good one if you have a touch board.

If you have a Smart Board this could be a fun way to review prepositions. My co and I had so much fun with it.

I printed out some mazes (which I got from another thread, and will repost here once I find them again...) and got the kids to work in pairs to get from the start to finish.  One partner had their eyes closed and moved the pencil while the other directed (left, right, straight etc...)
We used that as a warm-up.  The next activity was to split the class into teams and arrange the desks like a maze.  THen one student was blindfolded and thier teammates direced them to a small object hidden in the maze.  We timed the kids and let them do three rounds each, with the maze changing every time.  The kids loved it.
I have a very small class though, so I could easily get too rowdy with more kids.

1) Dialog with games
-pretend you're an airplane shuffler.  Have students repeat directions (go straight, turn right, turn left, next to, in front of, behind, between) before testing their piloting skills.  If they're wrong play up a crash.
-floor game where students win if they can give the preposition/building.  Lose if you get alien.

2) Fun Dialog with games
-I set up my class like a city with several buildings like slide 50.  Students were predators chasing the girls.  If the student guesses correctly they win.  E.g. The girls are between the bank and the museum.

Several extra scanned pages at end of each PPT.

This activity goes with the reading section of Lesson 6. Basically, I warmed up the class with getting them to talk about which amusement parks they've been to, what rides they like, what food they eat there, etc. Then, I introduced the English names of some popular rides.

After that, I gave them a map of an amusement park (I just remade the one from the book in the reading) and put one direction from the book at each table. Ss read the direction clue and labeled the buildings on the map. After we checked the answers, I gave them a blank piece of paper and they designed their own amusement park. At the bottom of the page, they had to write out directions to 4 of the places on their maps using behind / in front of / next to / in between, etc.

I wasn't sure if this would fly but the ss really seemed to enjoy it~!

I made this League of Legend themed review game for this chapter. There's 16 questions, but feel free to add more or change the questions if you like. I know a lot of students really love this game (so do I! lol) so they should really like this. This game is compatible with PPT 97. You may have to tweak the sound files a bit if you are running a newer version.

I have all the vectors (images) of all the characters, let me know if you want them (I can't attach a folder on here). Also, here is a link to all of the character audio clips:
http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Champion_audio

Info on the presentation itself:
--The 2nd slide has the directions on how to play.
--From there, there are 4 question select pages (hit the backspace to go to the previous page).
--Clicking on a question will go to that character's question page.
--Click "O" for a correct answer and "X" for a wrong answer.
--Clicking "confirm" or "continue" will take you back to the first select screen.

Lastly, this was my first PPT game (I made this and a memory game together) and I worked really hard on it. Hopefully it runs smoothly for you guys!

Hey, this is a great idea! My co and I have done activities like this before with great success. I am going to do this tomorrow, but I modified everything a bit. I included some other carnival classics like the merry-go-round, teacups, and tunnel of love. The last because I also changed the questions. I want them to have more time to do some creative writing, so my questions were:
1.   Who did you go with? I went with Yang Yo Sup.
2.   What did you do first? We went through the tunnel of love.
3.   What is your favorite ride, and how do you get there? My favorite ride is the Ferris wheel. To get there, go straight and turn right. It is behind the hot dog stand.
4.   Where is the restroom? It is next to the entrance.

My female students LOVE to talk about their celebrity crushes, so I thought this might motivate them to be more creative. After they answer the questions they can write more about their pretend day at the park. (I have highly mixed ability levels in my class, so my more advanced students appreciate having something else to do while my low levels catch up.) We have an English board outside our classroom, so I plan to hang their drawings there when they are finished.

Also, I included some review at the beginning, with an explanation of when to use "the." There is also a map of my neighborhood; you might want to delete those slides...
