Material for Lesson 7: What Are You Going to Do Tomorrow?
« Last Edit: November 23, 2012, 07:45:55 pm by taeyang »
If you like my material, you  can check out my games page at http://www.waygook.org/index.php/topic,43821.0.html

:D   Just a short powerpoint to help with the phonics portion of the class later.  Enjoy.   Tell me if I should post regular ppt files instead.

Two different powerpoints this time.      One explains Future Tense with Korean examples....links to interesting YouTube videos,  and has an interactive sentence building exercise for students to visualize "going to" as a puzzle of sorts.

Let's see some other teachers upload some material.... I'm all for sharing, but where is everybody and their lesson plans?

So, I basically copied off of the previous poster a little with this PPT. I thought it was a good idea to have a Sentence Making chart.  SO this  PPT is really really really short, but it is meant to be followed up with another game I am working on and will post when I get the chance.  The last slide has a link to America's Funniest home videos. I tried to select the most PG of all the clips. I will pause it right before something happens and ask the class, what is he/she going to do?

good for intro

My students love this game. Great for period 2 or anytime to review. Got the template from Shane who did this game for the previous book on future tense. I tweaked it and made it fit for this lesson. I was having a hard time with some of the sounds so I do recommend taking some time to fix that. I hope this helps.

This PPT. was based on an existing PPT. from the Grade 6 index which I tweaked and added to.

I used it for period two of lesson 7.

Worked very nicely.

Changed all the images because I don't like it when they pixel-ate or have watermarks.

Enjoy!

My CT gets bored with the CDROM so I found some ESL videos on 'going' that are kind of interesting. Maybe they can help you too:

funny and clear: Going to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VYMqN86RSI&feature=related

chance to guess what each person will do: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Thd1gJ82QkU&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgPJM6XCu74&feature=related  (this one is long so only show them a portion, like in the middle of the video)

Song One Way or Another: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDLcyXzLMfg lyrics
I'm thinking of using it for a reading class (5th or 6th period)

Hey all, this is a simple Intro PPT I made. You could also use it to review key expressions. It has some funny gifs (my students respond really well to them). I've also attached a basic worksheet for the students to write out what their summer plans are.

This worksheet is made based on the text book.  The students in my school are given at the beginning of the each lesson.  Hope this would be helpful to your students.

Shamelessly cribbed from another foreign teacher, I've updated this activity for this lesson. Unlike just about everything in the known universe, my grade 6's actually enjoyed this. They write down their guesses for 8 scenarios you show them on the PPT, each incorporating the chapter's target language. I've gone with a Doraemon/Simpsons motif.

Also attached is a simple oral bingo game where the students try and find a classmate who fits a '_______ is going to ________' this summer phrase.

I did a comic strip for this lesson because I was looking for a different writing activity.  There are three different levels for students with different abilities.

Good writing activity for later on in the lesson. Students are shown a "What are you going to do ...?" question followed by a picture on the next slide. You can give them a few seconds before hiding the picture and asking them to write a complete sentence in their notebooks with the information you've given. The only thing that needs changing are the pictures of me; however, if you're a white male, they may not notice the difference.

This is a Mario Pass the Ball powerpoint from Lesson 1.  Literally just changed the sentences.

Thanks to whoever made the original template.  Modded a Plants vs. Zombies game.
