Hi folks. Here is the great Zombie PPT game(with score) by Daejoen made for this chapter...It's great for BOYS!!(graphic)
I put mostly fill in the blank questions from dialogues and what not...enjoy!..The questions are really easy to change if need be.
However the writer of the program said not to delete or change slides..enjoy!!

How are you using this Abbu ppt? Just talking about the kids and what they are like?

A simple worksheet to go with the "What is a friend" video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZHmsVRshwU

The front of the worksheet is a simple fill-in-the-blank and the back side is describe your best friend to practice writing.

Here are a couple more lessons I used for unit 5. I started the abilities and permissions lesson with a quick 'Simon Says' activity. A good extension is to get the students to come up with their own challenges and then go back to the rock, paper, scissors dialogue format to compete.

The second lesson is pretty self-explanatory. Some good extensions might be a Chinese Whispers board race, a rock, paper, scissors vocab challenge or a change chair activity.

I hope these are useful.

Cheers,
Stefan

Special thanks to Kelly for the Harry Potter work!

Hi folks,

Here is my mutual dictation exercise. This tests speaking, listening, reading and writing all in one lesson.ALSO, it forces them to use English if done properly. This is one of my favorite exercises I learned from my TESOL course.

I use the dialogue from the chapter.I have a sheet A and a sheet B for two students. The students turn their chairs so they are back to back. This is VERY important. They MUST NOT be able to look at one another's papers. The student with sheet A will read his/her sentence from the dialogue and student B will listen and write what he/she hears on their paper. Then, when student A is finished, the student with sheet B reads his/her sentence and student A writes what he/she hears. This goes on until the dialogue is finished.

I put phrases on the board to help the students out.For example,I put phrases like"How do you spell...""Could you repeat that?" "Speak slowly please" etc. This way, they do not have to speak Korean.

This really gets the kids to speak and think in English.

If there are any questions please ask!!

Jim

P.S. It can get quite noisy when they are all talking but it's a great sound!!!

This worksheet is my writing assignment for the lesson.  On page 88-89 in the book, the is a short book report style activity and a game.  I made this material into a worksheet that is basically a book report on students' favorite book.
