Most of this is reworked from the generous contributors of waygook.

Enjoy!

Hi folks!

Here is one of my FAVORITE games and the kids and co-teacher's favorites as well.I SWEAR you will like it!!It's Who Wants To Be A Millionaire! The designer made it with sound and everything! This is for chapter 4,5,6 review. What I did was, in the classroom,I put a chair in front of the TV screen.I would choose the students by student number out of a hat and have that student sit in the "hot seat."Then, of course they would answer the questions by multiple choice, just like the game.If there are lower levels it's OK because they have 3 lifelines just like the game. With the 50:50 lifeline, I just go to the screen and cover two answers with my hands. For the "Phone a Friend" lifeline I have them choose any ONE student in the class to help(obviously they pick the smart kid). With the "Poll of the Audience" lifeline, I just have the class vote on each answer."OK if you think it's A raise your hands. If you think it's B...etc.etc.." Now this is crucial.I believe you really need to address the rules before the game. You will ALWAYS get cheaters. For example, the students will try to cough or make make signals when the right answer pops up.I deduct points if I hear ANY noise while the answers are being shown. You will hear ALOT of whispering and see a ton of hand signals to help their class mate.I suggest having your co-teacher help. They will also try Korean to try to throw you off.I usually have the classes compete against each other and give candy to the class that wins or gets the farthest.I have 5 different classes of girls but I don't tell each one how well the previous class has done because they get discouraged and don't want to continue playing if they know the other class has made it farther.Even if they use all of their lifelines and lose the game, I still have them continue to play until they get to a million just for fun.I mark the point where each class has gotten to and write it down so I remember each class's score.I deduct points(money) at the end for how many times they cheated as well.
Usually when you deduct points the first time, the cheating stops because of peer pressure. Now, after they chose an answer, I like to do a little acting and make it suspenseful like Regis does. For example,I would say"are you sure it's A?" You will lose 10,000 if you're wrong!" Now of course the answers are easier at first. At the end I do put general difficult questions that arent in the book.I figure if they are to win a million I should make it difficult. Also, they have lifelines!!Obviously you can easily change the questions to your liking!!hahah. If you have any questions let me know...ENJOY!!!!
