I made a Tangram introduction worksheet for the students. Surprisingly, their favorite part was filling in the blanks with the colors, haha.  Next class, I will show them my own Tangram and story as a model, and then set them to work.

Attached is the worksheet.

I have my 3rd grade students twice a week, so I'm going to have students actually make Tangrams and tell a story using them.  They'll work in pairs, or groups of 3. My classes only have about 15 students each, and I think it would be more difficult to do this with a larger class.  I'm using this sheet as a kind of introduction and preparation for this.  We'll use the book's instructions to actually make the Tangram.

Nothing special, really, but maybe it will be of help!
