This lesson works best in intermediate-upper level middle school classes. It requires an adequate knowledge of Harry Potter (for the teacher), miming by the teacher, and Role Play by the students. I use the powerpoint to teach along the quiz vocabulary. For the scenarios, I get the students to come up to the front of the class and act them out. Then I go through each quiz, tally their scores and see who belongs to which house. My plan is to use this for a reward/punishment system throughout the semester. I made laminated badges to go along with the lesson. Be warned: this takes a lot of time.
