Objectives    Students will know how to ask for help, and what to say when someone offers help to them.

◉ Introducing Objective
T. Today, we're going to learn more about how to ask for help.

◉ Activity1: CD
-   Watch (Fun Talk 2) & (Listen & Repeat 2)

◉ Activity2: Go Fish
-   Break up students into groups of four, then hand out cut outs of different pictures. (Write necessary key expressions on the board to help students play)
-   Explain the game of Go Fish. Rock/Paper/Scissor decides who gets to go, the winner asks for whatever picture card they need to make a match, for example “My room is very dirty, can you help me” to another player, if they player has a picture card with a dirty room then the player must respond “sure, I can help you” if the player does not have it then they respond with, “Sorry, I can’t”. If the student gets a matching card they must respond with “that’s very nice of you.” The student with the most matched up picture cards wins the game.

Ss. Learned how to ask for help, how to respond when someone asks for help, and how to thank someone who has helped them.
T. Yes, we learned how to offer help to someone and what to say when someone offers us help.

lesson 6-3 very simple memory activity

Last year "John Teacher" posted a pretty great "Lee Myung Pak vs Jang Mi Ran" game in the national curriculum books "Will you help me?" Thread.

I have retrofitted to reflect the key sentences and expressions of 5th grade Unit 6 "Can you help me"  Since I'm using this for Lesson 2. I have a few "How nice of you." questions even though teaching this asinine drivel kills a little bit of my soul each time I say it. (My 5th grade co-teacher is an older, conservative, traditional lady who doesn't really appreciate  any deviation from the book.)

I through in a few chapter 5 review questions just to keep them on their toes and flesh out the game.

Please let me know if you encounter any problems or if you have success with it.  My kids usually love this game.  I hope yours will too.

Avengers game,

My students enjoy playing these games. Two students need the help of the Avengers to diffuse a stink bomb made by the Joker (elaborate on the PPT as you wish). The two students must hunt for the Avengers. 5 students receive an Avengers card (a character from the movie) the rest receive cards posted by ramenhairteacher (all the cards are a secret).

The original two students must ask for help ("There's a bomb! Can you help me?"), the rest of the class responds with what is on their card ("Sorry, I'm cleaning my room" or "Sure!").

Give the students 1minute to find the avengers (http://www.online-stopwatch.com/bomb-countdown/full-screen/), then swap students & cards.

Have used evaninjinsari's awesome Lee Myung Pak vs Jang Mi Ran game's questions to make a trashball game to get my kids up out of their seats and really involved in class.

Basically, choose an NBA team, answer a question then throw dice to see how many throws your team gets.

You can wad up a ball of paper, or use a real ball and paper trash box - but the kids really love this game, it's a nice way to sneak some English in :)

Tarzan
We had the students do a role play this time.  We spent 20 minutes reading and discussing the story, 5 minutes rehearsing and 15 minutes in role play.  I have 5 tables of 6 students each. 
Heads up!  In discussion, some students didn't watch the animation very carefully, they chose to read instead. (well-intentioned) They thought that Dr. Potter helped Jane and were confused. 
We couldn't find images for the story, so I adapted the pdf on the website.  I attached the images as well.

I think you uploaded a draft of your PPT instead of the final.  I made a PPT including your matching section.  Kids all loved it. At the end of class, we practiced the role play for next week and I went through all of the lines with teach groups character speaking their part.
