I made a word PPT for Lesson 3 according to the CD including the extra words so that its easier to remove later if you don't want you're students to learn it. I have included the Korean translation too with images. You're always welcome to acting out some of the words

Here is a simple powerpoint about the phrases and pictures used, to review or introduce the topic as well, as review answering phrases to match the picture at the end.  Enjoy.

Sorry i forgot to add it.

Hello, everyone.  First, I want to thank everyone for their wonderful contributions to waygook.org.  For the longest time, I have been borrowing materials without giving back to the community.  I think the time has come that I do something about that.  Attached are some lessons I have created for Chapter 3, "I have a toothache."  I hope you will find them useful in your classes.  Please let me know what you think, for this is the first time I have posted my materials online.

Warmest Regards,

Randall

P.S.

Attached is what I used for Periods 1 and 2.  For period 4, I created a writing dictation game.  I stole the idea from someone else, but I edited the instructions to make them a bit easier for students to understand.  I have also stolen a Powerpoint about Easter from another part of this forum, but have decided to repost it here for your convenience.  From my understanding, many here don't know about the Easter holiday we celebrate and love in most western countries across the world.

Stuff that I have made up so far...

Some of these powerpoints I made up and some others have been taken from here but changed up for this chapter.

A good place to get materials for this chapter would be in the 6th grade index, 2011 National Book and look for chapter 13 'That's too bad'.

Have a great day...

What is up with Fun and Fun 1?  LOL...when I saw the picture in the textbook.

Instead of playing it the way the book suggested, I used a Go Fish variant of the game.  I had all the Ss tear out all ten cards and shuffle their cards together (groups of 4 Ss).  Each student gets dealt 5 cards...and they must always have 5 cards in their hand at all times.  These cards are known to the student only.  The rest are placed face down as a Draw Pile.

When it is their turn, the student will point to a student they think has the card that they want to collect.  That student will ask the question: "what's wrong?" The current student answers with the card they are trying to collect ie) "I have a toothache." If the designated student has any number of the card in question, they need to give only one.

Designanted student now has 4 cards.  S/he must take one from the draw pile.
Current student now has 6 cards.  S/he must discard one unneeded card to the bottom of the draw pile.

If the designated student has none of the cards, s/he must say "Go Fish" and the current student draws one from the draw pile.

Hope that makes sense.  It's a fun way to play with the cards and practice the key expressions.

This is what we did with my 6th graders for this lesson.  The Key expressions covered were:

What’s wrong?
I have a _________.
~ I have ________.
Can I go to the nurse’s office?
Why?
Because I have _________.

On the ppt we only put 6 'sicknesses', but verbally gave more examples.
For the 'listening' exercise, it turned out pretty good as the kids seemed to get the idea of when to use 'because' (this was what my co-T wanted).  Instructions for how that exercise worked is in the notes below the slide..

For motivation, we used this Mr.Bean clip:

Here is a quick introductory PPT that I used to introduce the anatomy of head, tooth, and stomach. Along with the additional vocab of sore, chills, and pounding.

Telepathy game i put together using wretch's pictures.

Asked the students to read, then try to guess what I was thinking.

Points given for each correct answer, the students with the most at the end win. Also a special prize if a student managed not to match a single answer. Was fun, they seemed to enjoy it.

Break the code ppt. There are key expressions from the book in the form of "IHAT" and students have to say "I have a toothache". They were surprisingly good at this.

My zombie virus game. Students walk around asking each other how are u. Students respond by saying they have some sickness. Before we start choose 2 or 3 students to have the "zombie virus" they will respond to questions with "I'm sick, I have the zombie virus". Now both of them have the virus. Last man standing wins, or give it a set amount of time, like 2 5 minute rounds.

tried posting these last weeks but was having trouble with the server.  my games went up fine today so trying these other things again. hope someone can still use these.

the first PPT is just the intro/new words and then goes along with the textbook. all the korean translations are correct, but heads up - *brush* was translated as the verb, not the noun.

the second PPT was used for 3rd period. it has a review "chase the vocab game", then the text book, then a "matching game" at the end.  students liked it.
