Here are some materials I used for this lesson.

1. A Days of the Week song. Good for period 1.

2. Say the missing words. Students listen to the dialog between Lilo and Stitch, then read it out loud (boys once character, girls the other). Each round gets harder as more words are covered up.

3. Blazing Markers game. In teams, students must unscramble the word/ sentence and write it on their whiteboards/notebooks before the   timer runs out.

4. Mind reading game. Instructions are on the PPT.

5. Snakes and ladders. For 2 or 3 players. Players do rock scissors paper. If you win with rock, you can advance 1 block, scissors = 2 blocks and paper = 3 blocks. Loser(s) ask the question and the winner answers. If you move to a green square, go up the ladder. If you move to a red square, go down the snake. (You can't go up snakes or down ladders.)

I just made this quick Battleship game so the students can practice asking and answering. You may need to alter the last slide so the squares fit when you print the page out. I used this as part of my second and third lesson with them.

ASK:
Do you have (math) on (Tuesday)?

ANSWER:
HIT: Yes, I do.
MISS: No, I don't.

The kids seemed to enjoy it. However, you do need a good co-t to help explain the rules of the game.
