We are doing this lesson a bit early because it's covered on the midterm. Here is a SUPER simple PPT I made to review the sentences before doing Talk and Play 1 from the book. I'll also throw in the pictures of the cards I took.

Great Motivation Video - rapping about the seasons:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWF8Su78xik

Another really good one but not as good for 6th graders imo:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VS9qBeInJ0U&feature=related

Also attached a bingo game that comes with 4 different templates. You may wanna make more depending on your class size. An alternative is to have the pictures up on the screen and students can write their own into a blank template - that way nobody has identical boards. Includes a list that you can check off as you read them out.

Also added a Spongebob Board game I found on the 5th Grade thread that I modified for section 2.

EDIT: sorry guys accidently had a couple duplicate bingo sheets. Fixed. And there's an extra blank page at the end for those of you printing mult sets - sorry couldn't get rid of it.

My Co-teacher and I used this last year and it's nice to use again for this year as motivation video.

I created a reading game for period three and/or four.

There is a Korean game similar to this, so the kids should understand once they get playing.

A sentence comes up on the screen, the students must read the sentence, one word, one student at a time.

For example - I like summer.  One student stands and says 'I', another students stands and says 'like', and a third students stands and says 'summer'.

The turn is over if : -two students stand and say a word together
- there is a long pause in between words
-one student reads two words

You can have teams battle each other for points.
My co-teacher battled the students, so if they completed the sentence properly, the whole class just read it together.  If they did not complete the sentence, they had to write it out two times in their notebook.

The students seemed to love the game.
Be the change you want to see in the world.

Here's a great pass the ball game for drilling 'what's your favorite season?', as well as the answers.  I didn't make this and sadly forgot where I found it, but many thanks to whoever originally designed it!

Here is my listen and repeat ppt.  Our students have been learning spring, summer, fall, & winter all four years they have had English.

We're stressing that they be able to describe the temperature and months of the season as well.  We added the cards for the lotto game to the end of the power point.  Students got 1 point for having the same card I said.  I gave two points if they could name a month in that season.

We will be playing games matching the season, month, and temperature all unit.

I have a simple, non ppt activity for this lesson. I did it after we'd reviewed the key expressions and vocab, before we started the book exercises.
All you need is enough blank paper to hand out 1 piece to each student. Pass out the paper, have them fold it into 4 squares and in each square have them write 1 season, using big letters. Then tell them to tear the paper so they have 4 individual "Season Cards". I modeled the creation of the cards for them first (fold, write, tear) and then gave them about 3 minutes to do it.
What I did was ask them questions about things that happen in each season. For example, "In what season is the weather very hot?" and if they think the answer is Summer, they have to hold up in the air the "Summer" season card. That was the example I gave them.
It's up to you the kind of questions you could ask, some of mine were "In what season can you see the flowers start to grow again?" (Spring), "In what season is the holiday Chuseok?" (Fall) "In what season can you go skiing?" (Winter).
For each question have the whole class hold up the season card they think is the correct answer.
Even though there isn't any speaking, I mainly did it to encourage class participation, since that's something I've been struggling with in my 6th gr classes. This at least gets every student thinking and coming up with an answer. Also it was a good way for me to gauge their listening comprehension based on how easily they could understand and answer the questions I asked. The whole activity can last about 15 minutes including the card creation time.
Hopefully this could be a useful activity for someone. I hope my explanation was clear enough.

A introductory Guessing game elongated from another's post on this thread, and a scramble game. They're for my open class so they got a bit of length to them. Enjoy!

They were intended for the writing lesson (period 4).

I made a matching worksheet. Students match the month to the season to an activity that happens in that month.  It intergrates Chapters 4 into Chapter 13.
After they complete the worksheet the make sentences.
In May it is spring.  I can celebrate Children’s Day.

This is my PPT file for listening and speaking practice.  It includes the season's rap that another member previously posted up, after the students have listened l will ask them comprehension questions.  Next, there is some simple vocab/expressions practice and then we will play Bingo, l made a new game (not the same as the previous members post - this has 15 versions).  Lastly l will use the Avengers Game from this thread, all l changed was to add the proper theme music, file attached below.

Standard memory game. Teams take turns flipping tiles. If they match, leave them flipped over. Best to spend a few minutes making sure you're comfortable with the template. Some of the buttons are a bit sensitive so you have to be careful not to reset the game.

Ss' have to take turns matching the pictures to the sentences e.g. <sping.jpg> - > It's Spring! <picnic.jpg> -> I like to go on picnics.

To get away from the stupidly narrow "What's your favorite season?" question in the book you can use the Genki English topics here;

http://genkienglish.net/favourite.htm

It's a bit more useful for students than what's included in the textbook.

Afterwards you can have students conduct interviews. One student is in the hot seat and the other students can ask questions (what's your favorite...?). There are five famous people included so you can cut the masks out and use them or your own.

This thread is mostly games, so here's a little intro ppt you can use for lesson 1 or 2 to introduce the topic and refresh their memory. This is mushed together from a similar ppt I had for grade 4, and the 'Talk and Play 1' ppt someone posted up earlier. At the end, I go around and ask each group what their favorite season is and why (what can we do in that season). It gets them talking about different activities (hiking, snowboarding, sports, certain foods, seeing/smelling spring flowers, etc.) rather than staying limited to the activities practiced in this unit.

Hope it's useful :)

This is good for filling 10-15 minutes if you've got some space in your classroom.

Arrange the girls into a circle facing outwards. Arrange the boys into a circle around the girls (or just divide the class in half and arrange them in the same way.)

Load up a song on Youtube (Kpop works well here) and while the music plays, the girls move clockwise and the boys move counter-clockwise. When the music stops, the person they're standing in front of says "What's your favourite season?" and they answer with "I like ~ because... ~." My students are low level, so I have flashcards with the target language nearby and most of them used that. Then they change roles and answer. Start the music again and repeat.

some material for this chapter.
1.  A ppt explaing like/love/can + verb with a quiz.
2.  An answer sheet for the quiz with space to interview friends on the on the other side (What's your favorite season?  Why do you like it?  I wrote a sample answer in pen before copying in one of the spaces).
3.  A worksheet/ mind map page for the seasons ( I put them in groups to mind map then got them to do individual worksheets.  I pen wrote an example answer for one of the seasons before copying).  I used this as an intro.
4.  An information gap on one side/writing exercise on the other work sheet.  (again I hand wrote some answers)
