Here is a powerpoint that has some vocabulary and target sentences. My kids last year already did phone etiquette, so mostly it is just a way for them to re-learn things that they already knew. I don't plan to spend a whole lot of time on this chapter for that reason. Slide 16 has a picture of me and a friend at a park, and slide 17 has my house. Feel free to use your own picture of your house. My kids always go nuts when I add the personal stuff to these slide shows. I am also going to attach a intro video. My kids saw it last year, but it is still funny. And I love it, so they must suffer through it as well. Also attached is a Lucky Wheel game. It was updated a little from the Grade 5 Lesson 14 unit. Can't take much credit for it. But it was a game I didn't get around to playing last year, so hopefully it will be new.

I am so sorry. I attached another powerpoint that I used from last year, not the video clip. WHOOPS!! Here it is. Sorry about that.

Here is one of the activities I used last year to get the ss interested in the lesson. You can change the picture of yours truly.  :)

I also remember doing a running dictation activity.

Another ppt I remember coming across last year was pretty good in terms of showing different types of situations on the phone (such as: reciever speaking first, caller speaking first, wrong number, taking a message to give absent party at a later time).

Here's a coin flick game that I adapted from someone who posted it for 5th grade.  This game is for practicing
Hello.  Is ____ there?
-Speaking.  Who's calling, please?
-Hold on.  ____, it's for you.

Download the "coin flick" file.  They are the same, but the game involves flicking the coin, not flipping it.
The directions are on page 2 of the file.

My kids love the Banana Phone Song.
So I decided to teach them the lyrics for this lesson.
Hope your kids enjoy this as much as mine.

Credit to the original uploader in the fifth grade section.  I changed around some of the slides to include sixth grade vocabulary.

Game: the class stands in a line and every person reads one word.  There are shapes over some words and the student with that word has to do the corresponding action (ex. clap).  If you want to make it competitive you can try to encourage them to read the sentences really fast and anyone making a reading or action mistake will sit down.

Here is a board game for the second period. It's really just a variation on the one in the book. I used  a game board template from the grade five thread, thanks whoever you are. PPT is for drilling practice and instructions.

I am sorry, this doc is not the most clear. I had it per the original in Word, then something went wrong and it de-formatted. So I used  Paint and put it in Publisher.

If you need a youtube clip to fill 1.40 minutes of the lesson try:

It has basic telephone conversation phrases in Korean and English in a song format.
PV=nRT

Where
P is pressure
V is volume
n is number of moles
R is the gas constant
T is the temperature

I used this ppt to hepl students practice the key expression who's calling please. I then had two students at the front of the class managing the hangman while the other members of the class had to guess how to spell the name.

Thanks for this. I used this game last year, but wasn't sure if I wanted to torture myself with trying to get them to do this again. BUT, I have some spare time tomorrow, and I feel like being an evil teacher and making them actually participate in doing this. Thanks so much for the game!! ^^

Quite a nice game. My thanks to it's creator.

The page should be enlarged to A3 for better game play. The boards are placed in a plastic case hence the warning to students not to play with the boards and damage them (the 1000 won note)

I have made a PPT to explain this game to the class.

Get students to play rock paper scissors to decide who goes first.

Finally when demonstrating attach it to the board and use a counter with a magnet as a "coin".
