Earth Day
« on: April 24, 2012, 03:06:12 PM »
Here is a very simple PPT on Earth Day (a little late, I know). There are plenty of craft activities and worksheets available for kids on Google if you do a quick search.
Sheep, like all wool-bearing animals, instinctively travel north, where it's colder, and they won't be so stuffy.

I have a low level after school class with the grades between 2-4.  So that means there is Korean and English instructions on everything I make for them.

I just made some material for my after school class as well.  It's really late, but it worked out perfect because this week is green week and the whole school is talking about the environment.  Anyway. here's what i got:

Basic vocabulary PPT with built in bomb game and worksheets.  (also has 2 internet games at the end)
I Am Planet Earth by Jean Marzollo Mini-book. (unfortunately there is no youtube version)
scavenger hunt document
worksheet to go with the magic school bus video

here is the link to the youtube magic school bus (planted).  This is really too advanced for my class, but maybe it will be helpful to someone else.  They learn how plants create food.  hopefully I can download it later and post a version with Korean subtitles.

This is for Elementary wombats.

I did a Save the Earth theme lesson for part of my winter camp. It's mostly about pollution, recycling, and global warming etc.. Included are:
  • Save the Earth PPT (Note: the theme of the slides has a rotating earth in the corner. I covered it and it worked on one computer in my school but on the others is automatically laid itself on top of everything else as a gif. Still fine whether it works like this or not.)(
  • A few games of varying difficulty because I had two levels of students - I personally like the Good or Bad Game, and What Should We Do game.
  • The Falling Leaves Template is a great craft for the younger kids, can take up an hour easily.
  • Two worksheets.
  • My lesson plan - be sure to find the video "Le Royaume" on youtube - fantastic for this lesson!! The LP includes some videos and stuff I didn't use, fyi.

Good luck!
