More of the usual.

- Simple vocab PPT
- Simple Future Tense PPT
- Festivals Around the World PPT, to inspire a bit of open conversation and replace Hello World
- Festivals I Spy PPT

I'll probably add a worksheet later on.

*Edit: adding worksheet and Sprite06's impressive *new* Doraemon game adapted for this lesson.

Attached are set of 8 game cards--could be used for slap game, go fish, etc.

Also attached is the same game card set minus the "I will ____."  Used this set for a door test to end class.  My co-teacher and I stood at each of the doors and asked, "What will you do this weekend?"  Students responded, "I will ______."

Here's an idea for a simple game that doesn't require ANY material.

"I will go on a trip"

-students sit in a circle
-1 by 1 they say "I will go to (destination name)
-destination name must start with the same letter as the first letter of their given name

For instance:
Nico: "I wil go to Niagara Falls"

-if students say it correctly, respond "Ok, you can go."
-if they dont, respond "Sorry, you can't go."

You can make the students say "My name is _____ and I will go to _____". This might help them figure it out quicker.

Alternatively, make students say place names or actions in alphabetical order.

Eg: "I will go to Angola. I will go to Belize. I will go camping. Etc."

Since the English level of my students is quite high, I modified the Doraemon Bomb Game. Thanks to TheWB18 for the original post.     Enjoy~

Great little warm up: Tiny Toons Song (What will they do this summer?)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlSdwrCcDXU&feature=related

Answers:
1) The pink rabbit will get a golden tan.
2) The blue rabbit will goof off every second that he can.
3) The pig will see the sights (travel).
4) The girl will get a kitty and squeeze him tight.

Also, a handout for Look and Speak.
For Part B of the dialog-Here is the complete and correct dialogue without problems:
Emily: Hi, Jimin
Jimin: Hi, Emily. What will you do tomorrow?
Emily: I will watch a movie. How about you?
Jimin: I will visit my uncle's farm. I will feed the chickens and rabbits.
Emily: Sounds great. Have fun.

I adapted the Gorilla Girl story to have the target language plus a few other things. The kids sat still pretty well for it as well. Gorillas!

Also, here's a presentation that compares present progressive to simple future: I am v. I will. It also used the phrase "In the future," so there are robots and space ships and stuff to pretend learning English is fun.

I adapted the above Gorilla book, and added a 'Reading Challenge' section with words missing, to make it harder for students to read it the second time through.

I also changed the Connect 4 game to include some gaps that students have to fill in themselves...don't want to make it too easy eh?

I'm also going to use ALICE (http://alice.pandorabots.com/) for motivation, encouraging Ss to start with a 'what will you do' question before coming up with their own Qs.

Here is a PPT I made for Lesson 8.  It includes a cartoon dialogue writing activity to practice phone call conversation. See attachment to print the cartoon worksheet.

Game: Connect 4-5-6
Simple game that students can play in groups of 3-5. I've got this idea from somewhere else in Waygook but changed few things to fit my class.
To win they need to make lines of 4, 5 and 6 boxes by making a sentence using the words in the box.
Star- They must stand up and do the action.
Free talk- Make their own sentence.

You can print them out for everyone or put it inside a clear file so you can recycle them. I did this and just recycled it for all of my 7 classes. You just need a board marker for everyone and 1 eraser per group.

I took a ppt from last year teaching I want and changed it to I will. It is just a practice PPT using "What will you do____?" and answering "I will ______."

Here is a handout. It matches one that I got off of here for fifth grade. I wanted them to match for fifth and sixth grade. It is really simple just for lesson one, with vocabulary, the dialogue, and key sentences.

Song that you can use for this lesson - "Que Sera, Sera" by Doris Day. (You can find the song on you tube)
Here is a worksheet of the song lyrics and the fill in the gap listening exercise you can do in class.
