Lots of material from last year's textbook that you can modify and use for your own lessons if you're unlucky enough to be teaching with this dreckbook.
Taking a breather from the Powerpoint games with this lesson and hopefully get longer student speaking times. Activities I used so far that my students responded well to:
1. Zombie Game - select two students to be the secret zombies and another two students to be the secret doctors. The rest of the class will be humans. Students talk to each other.
If they are a Zombie they say, "I want to eat brains."
If they are a Doctor they say, "I want to help you."
If they are Human they can say anything beginning with, "I want to ---."
A Human becomes a Zombie after talking with a Zombie. A Zombie becomes Human after talking with a Doctor. A Human becomes a Doctor after talking with a Doctor.
Students practice the target language for a few minutes. Count how many Zombies etc.
2. Bingo - hand out bingo sheets to your students. Students ask each other, "What do you want to do?" Their partner's answers are written down on the bingo sheet. Play bingo by asking random students to give their answers (or tell the students who just answered to select the next student to answer).
