here are a few things. One is a few additions to the reading verb game so a big thank you to katiehue for the original one!!!!

next a sleeping elephants game. (note that after the blank slides are more slides not related to the chapter...I kept them so that I can have a bigger template should I need it)

a telepathy writing game (or reading too) using youtube links in the ppt.

Don't thank me cause I didn't invent it. I just used the template for this lesson (but didn't even get to use it :-/) But I am glad it went so well!

Hey guys, some stuff I used last year

Pirates of the Classroom - the students choose squares by making a sentence. The target sentence is "This is (name), description. he can/can't (verb)." For example, "This is Bart, Homer's son. He can speak English." The instructions are in the ppt

Telepathy game with worksheet if you want the students to write down the sentences

Alright guys~! Here's a really great power point that I've put together for this chapter. It is a little challenging but I'm sure if my students can do it, so can yours if you make the effort to teach them all of the key concepts well. There are two days of work included in the presentation. The first day is an introduction and grammar concepts. The second is review of everything learned from the previous lesson. I will add on some worksheets later in the week.

*On a side note, I notice that a lot of people are downloading my power points and worksheets which I think is great... that's why I put them on here. However, I'm a bit disappointed that no one else is really making an effort to contribute more of their own lesson materials. If people don't start posting their work, I'm going to stop posting mine until I stop teaching this textbook. Sorry~

** PPT has been changed to fix some very minor mistakes. Please check your version before presenting to your class.

I think the reading section of this book is much too easy, so I made a supplement for the students. It is easy, as many students still struggle with comprehension, but it also gives them some practice one how to answer questions.

Also, I attached a sleeping elephants game I got from my co-teacher, it is good for review...the kids really like it and it keeps them entertained in these final weeks.

Here's a super simple Mystery Box Game for reviewing Lessons 4 - 8, ideally for 6 teams. There are also two 'Challenge' boxes. If they can get the answer within a certain amount of time, they can choose the orange boxes as a reward or a grayed-out box as punishment.

Here's a worksheet for your students to review family members and can vs. can't. There is also an easy survey activity on there which the students should be able to complete with their classmates in under 5 minutes. Probably more like 3. There are two versions of it... One in PDF which is completely set and one in docx which is changable if you want to change one of the worksheets to suit the needs of your students. I hope you all enjoy them!

Here's my intro ppt. I got the poop game from my co-t, but I'm not sure where she got it from. Either way the kids think it's hilarious!

I have developed an "English Espionage" game, which involves decoding sentences using the key expressions.  Split your groups into ":decoders" and "writers"--decoders get the "one-time pad" and writers get a mini-whiteboard set.  The encrypted message is on the screen, and they have to a) decode it, then b) write it on their whiteboard before time expires.  Instructions included.  REMOVED

Here is an unscramble ppt game with a soccer theme.

Round 1 is to unscramble the letters to make a word, round two is unscramble the words to make a sentence.  I use this as a verbal warm up, but you could also hand out whiteboard sets and make it a "blazing pens" game. REMOVED
