Here are threads to other past and current textbooks that cover roughly the same material:
Is this York Street?
It's next to the bank.
It's on the second floor.
How can I get to the post office?
Where is Anna's Doughnut Shop?

Aigoo, similar those lessons may be, but not similar enough! The old topics focussed on directions and maps. This topic is more about which transport is best to use to get somewhere. With a little review of left/right/straight. I've been doing place names, left/right/straight as well as 'how ___ it is' and 'how do you get to ...?' and 'i get to ... by ...'.
I explained the difference between "How do YOU get to the post office?" and "How do you get to the Post Office" with quite good success rate so far.
Anyway, I really need some games and things. I think I'll have to do the good old left/right stuff for now. and some bomb games. if anyone has some other ideas for this topic i'd be grateful!!
I thought of making a funny role play about various different animals suggesting to each other how to get somewhere. You could also throw something from the nursery rhyme "there was an old woman who lived in a shoe" just because of that ridiculous Shoes Town video on the first page!
Also, I figure I'll upload my introduction PPTs here. one in English, one in Korean. it's a struggle to get through everything and explain little details on the first lesson, but that groundwork will take them far. we then review for 5minutes using the PPTs super quick at the start of each lesson.

You're right about needing to tweak the materials to suit the target language for this book. I edited an interesting game I found (props to D. Larsen) and changed it to suit the materials in the book.
Aside: I was chatting with a co-teacher and found out she decided to choose this horrid mess of a textbook. She wasn't teaching English last year and was surprised when she was asked to choose the Grade 5 and 6 textbooks. It may not surprise you that she was only given til the end of the day to give her choice. The teacher who chose the textbook doesn't even teach Grades 5 nor 6.
And that's why my co-teachers, students and I are forced to endure this textbook. Luckily I don't have to teach Grade 5, I guess.

Lesson 7 Period 1 (quiz): This goes over the introduction video in the textbook and includes Activity Box 1 activities.
Review & Memory Game: Students can use this to review the key expressions they learned in period 1. At the end, students must remember the matching place & transportation mode to find matching boxes.
3-in-a-row: This is a game for students to practice the basic key expressions. Play in two teams and make 3-in-a-row. The challenge is that one student must throw a ball in a box in order for the team to win the square they chose.
Where am I?: Students must ask the teacher yes/no questions to find out where the teacher is (post office, zoo, park, etc). Example questions: Are you big? Are you in Korea? Can I play there? Can I buy things there? The student must ask a question first to guess the place.
Where's the ice cream store: Pokemon bomb game to review language from grade 5 and this lesson. Students should know the difference between 'Where is the post office?' and 'How do you get to the post office?'

A previous topic (with sentences like 'Why don't you study English?') required students to understand INTONATION. We discussed the difference in meaning if the sentence sounds harsh VS if it sounds more like a melody. Luckily my teacher translated a lot of how this works, but it's also just easy to demonstrate then have the kids say what you said but in Korean. You can hear their own intonation and understand that they got it right. Hopefully, the humour of acting this will help them remember that intonation can make a BIG difference!
Anyway, this topic also uses slight intonation, so I pointed it out again. How do YOU get to the park VS How to you get to the park. We discussed the two meanings of 'you' and when this could be used. I pretended to be a bird and my co-teacher was a person. Again, humour seems to have had a decent effect :)
