Mostly for my own entertainment, I got the kids listening to the Banana Phone song. As a warm up, I wrote a few words (that occur a lot in the song) on the board and made the kids stand up and sit down when they heard their word.

I then put together this quick disappearing dialogue for them, and got them to write their own role plays for a phone conversation. Hope that helps someone :)

Here is a pass the ball game that i used, as well as a blazing pens game and a gangnam style bomb game for review. (unfortunately the sound didnt work, but the kids still love it) enjoy everyone :D

I adapted the Gangnam game. This is more relevant to the lesson.

Here's a lesson for first period including introducing the language from the look and listen video, a pass the ball style game and a game called 'Fireman Sam.'

One student sits at the computer and covers their eyes while another student is given a phone by the teacher, which they hide. This student is Sam.  I used a plastic banana, whatever you have that's roughly phone shaped is probably fine.

The first student then tries to contact Fireman Sam as their house burns down. They do this by using the number pad on screen. They dial '555-##' with the last two digits being another classmate's student number.

For example, they punch in '555-23' and student 23 stands up and they run through one of two dialogues, one for a right number and one for a wrong one. They have 90 seconds to find Fireman Sam, if they don't their house explodes. I helped narrow it down by telling them whether it was a girl or a boy.

It takes a little explaining but my kids enjoyed it a lot.

Here's a Bananaphone game I pulled and changed from another thread.

Split the class into two teams and give each team a banana or phone or ball or whatever. Teams pass the objects while the music plays, and the two students who are holding the objects have to stand up and say the dialogue. Super simple, but my kids last year asked for it the rest of the year.
