Animal Sounds
« on: December 29, 2010, 08:07:02 AM »
I'm hoping to make my 3-4th grade camp a bit more exciting today by doing a class on the difference between animal sounds in english and korean.

I already know about eatyourkimchi's video but I remember seeing a powerpoint on this same topic on here and can't seem to find it.
Anybody got the link?

You can use the book "who says woof" for an introduction.

If you have a subscription to Barry Fun English - they have a ppt on how many animals using animal sounds.

Figured it was time to contribute a bit. This is a Animal Sounds game. It takes up about 35 minutes of my class. I teach it to my high schoolers - but i think everybody would enjoy it, and is certainly easy enough for Low - High levels. I don't know if you will have problems with the sound effects. Some of the sound files are here, and the rest will be in the next post (can only post 10 attachments per post). If you have problems just attach the noises to the number boxes when you click them (that should make sense after you check out the ppt). Cheers!

The following link has some differences in sounds of animals and other things. Once you click on the animal or object it shows different flags. Once clicking on the different flags you then can hear the different sounds of all different countries.

This is a simple Powerpoint that I put together (sorry, no frills!) about animals sounds.  I plan to demonstrate first and then ask my students what sound the animal makes in Korean.

I am doing a What did the fox say lesson & adding favorite animals too.

My lesson has to be 80 mins so it's longer than the normal lesson.

Here is my lesson plan, worksheet, PPT (a mix of another user, forgot who but thanks and my own). Also there are the lyrics, translated, of What the fox say.

Hope this helps someone.

I never shared anything on waygook - so here goes.

Animals ppt - with plenty of gifs.  The file is close to 130 megs, I think.  I edited a ppt that I got from here and added tons of gifs.  There is a game at the end which came with the original ppt.

And this is 'guess what animal is making this sound' game -
It's around 150 megs.
