Here are some revised PPTs and worksheets  from the 2010 English Book Lesson "Did you have a nice vacation".

They include the new vocabulary and phrases.

@mandu

The treasure hunt game and land grab game look interesting, but I have no idea how to use them. Can you explain the rules?

Here is a review PPT for 9.1 Fun and Fun 1 section.
My co-teacher and I usually split the sections in half and teach for the twenty minutes. (She usually does the first twenty minutes and I finish the last part.)
I just decided to use fun and fun 1 part from the CD-rom.
I will number the printout pictures and attach it to the blackboard; then let the CD-rom play.  ;D
Every student in each team will get a point if they become the secret agent.
Let's see how this goes~
Also, Thank you for the adam's videos! They are wonderful and kids love them!

How fast do you go through the books? 6 pages a week? more or less? Working on pacing with public school surprises and I want to work ahead just because I know there will be things coming in to disrupt any plan I set. Maybe if I don't set a plan, there will be no disruptions?

@cboyle

Treasure hunt is basically the same things as battleship. Students will choose seven squares to circle or mark. I usually have them put a file folder between the pairs so they can't see where their partner is "hiding their 7 treasures." Then each student alternates guessing a location on their opponents sheet by making a complete sentence.

Landgrab is also very simple. Again in pairs, students taken turns flicking a small marker towards a square on the sheet. After a student's marker lands in a square the student should make a complete sentence, if don correctly that square or "land" becomes theirs. Once all the time is up, the students who "owns more land" is the winner.

Great video!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJvTG-I-n64

I shall be using this purely because it features a quite convincing drag/crossdressing/trans-person and does not reffer to it at all. It's good to let the kids know that trans people exist in a neutral context.

A what's missing leftover from last year, reading action game and a puzzle where they have to change the words to past tense first.

Hey guys, here's a simple chart I made with present, present continuous, and past tense of common regular and irregular verbs. It is by no means comprehensive. I only have 15 verbs (I wanted it to all fit on one page). In my class we're beginning this chapter today so I wanted to give it to my students at the beginning to glue in their notebooks to study or reference if they forget basic stuff. Hope you guys find it useful ^^

Hey guys, here's a reading/writing worksheet I made. There's a mock schedule and the students have to answer 5 questions about what Mina did this week.

Here are two simple ppts I made for reviewing/ learning past tense words. The first is based on the activity on page 116 in the student book. The second is a game (the audio file might not transfer.. you may have to supply your own sound clip). I hope these are helpful!

So I'm reading through the role-play for period 5 and I don't get it.  What is on that guy's face and why do they keep calling it a pouch?

I'll be using a new 4th grade video (Did you have a nice weekend) for this lesson.

Subtitles:

You can also use last years "What did you do yesterday?" if you want.

Both deal with past tense, but the 1st seems to be more suited for this lesson. Enjoy!

Since the story for this lesson is so horrible, and barely even uses the past tense, I've taken Adam's awesome video "Did you have a nice weekend?" and centered my lesson around that instead of the book.

First is the video dialogue ppt which I've posted on the previous lessons. Ill show them the video without subtitles once, see how many lines they can remember, and then show it to them with subtitles.

Then I have a Prezi for listen and repeat, review some verbs, and then a fill in the blank dialogue that they will practice with their partners and perform for the class.

I modified a Lesson 5 Partner Gap Fill Activity and made it for this Unit. One partner must ask a question, the other looks at the picture and answers accordingly. For each number someone is writing either the question or the answer down.

Great for speaking, reading & writing!

English translation of the teacher's guide for this chapter.
~If it can't be done with duct tape and a spatula, it just can't be done.~
